I called in advance to see what was safe and they couldn’t tell me, but said they could speak with the chef. The chef was happy to accommodate and created a GF tasting menu that was wonderful and didn’t give me even the slightest twinge of contamination. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu, but they were understanding and helpful.
— Somewhat
— No gluten-free information on the menu
— Some
— Excellent
The hostess / reservationist on the phone didn't have any idea what celiac was and assured me that gluten free is very possible b/c "we don't use bread much"
Knowing better, I emailed the restaurant and the chef confirmed that nothing is safe.
Not a very positive experience from supposedly one of the top restaurants in the city.
No
Basically told me that there were no options. For bites, I had the Hon Hamachi which was great -they exchanged soy for tamari (only bites option). Then only salad option was Marin greens which I could only have lettuce and egg. No dedicated fryer for the shallots. Had the filet mignon with bordelaise which did test negative for gluten on my Nima, but I had to ask them to bring sauce after confirming GF. Terrible selection but luckily what they gave me was GF. Everything is marinaded in soy.
