Great dedicated gluten free restaurant. The whole place is gluten free, all the way down to the beer. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with russet potato fries. I love fries and these were great. Tasted like real potatoes and were nice and salty. The sandwich was nice, the bread was above average for gluten free, but still fell apart a little bit. From my understanding they have a separate bakery that is also gluten free, and the chocolate chip cookie is amazing. The lemon poppyseed muffin was nice, but a little sweet. The only comment I have was service wasn’t the best. There was only one waitress and she was on her phone or distracted most of the time.

Walking into a place and knowing I can order anything I want off the menu is so liberating and satisfying. The food is wonderful. I can’t wait to go back.

Wow this place is such a treat! The ambiance is lovely and the staff and friendly. The onion rings were crazy good, and the fish & chips was also excellent. I went on my birthday and the waitress brought me a tasty free GF cupcake! I went with 3 friends who eat gluten and they all loved it and said they couldn’t tell it was GF!

Ate here twice during our stay in Toronto. Their baked bread items are SO chewy and delicious and NOT crumbly. Cute spot- close to Kensington market area , super friendly staff, *highly* recommend the pizzas (we got all 3) as well as the chicken sundried pasta entree. For brekkie I did the salmon platter and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich- portions were not overwhelming just the right amount.

I finally had an opportunity to go to Almond Butterfly in Dundas West. I almost cried. A two page menu and I could eat EVERY SINGLE item. As a person with severe and always active Celiac, this opportunity was so exceptional to me. I had fish and chips. Delicious! I have not been able to eat restaurant prepared fiah and chips, for 20 years. I am so very grateful to the owner of Almond Butterfly. To enjoy food at a restaurant and to feel secure in doing so, is something I haven’t been able to do, ever. Cross contamination is a real issue for some of us that are very active celiacs. Excellent food,excellent service. I live uptown, so I have to plan a visit and I will again and again. So happy. Thank you. I will be forever grateful.

This restaurant has been on my radar for about a year. I took my 14 year old Celiac here, she was so excited to eat out in a restaurant that wouldn't make her sick. We ordered fish and chips and the crispy chicken burger.

The chicken burger was not cooked/raw. I cut the fish and burger in half to share. The kitchen took our plates back to make us new meals. When the food returned to our table the kitchen had cut the chicken burger and fish in halves and served them on the separate plates. I think they just reheated everything instead of making new food. The fries and home fries were inedible. My child was afraid to eat at this point because she didn't want to be sick.

I would have left but we just spent 13 hours at sick kids and hadn't eaten all day. I will not recommend. What a waste of money and time. So disappointing. The waitress was pretty understanding but should not have served us the food the second time out. It was obvious the food was not plated properly and reused.

Their cupcakes are absolutely delicious and the icing is addictive. I could eat them daily.

I’ve also had breakfast there, tried their pizza, Mac & Cheese, grilled cheese etc. Everything has been unreal! Highly recommend even for those not restricted to a gluten free diet.

I was visiting Toronto for less than 48 hours and really wanted to get something yummy gluten free I can’t get at home. I found almond butterfly on FindmeGF. I ordered a sprinkle cookie, a chocolate chip cookie and a cupcake. The cup cake was dry and nothing to write home about but the cookies were amazing!!! I’m sat here wishing I could have them at home! The lady who served me was also kind enough to fill my water bottle for me. Overall a fantastic experience and I will definitely return if I’m ever in the city again. Big big recommend for ppl who are GF!

Feom drink, to starters to meals, everything was amazing! Started with onion rings, then my husband(non gf) and I shared the fish and chips and the pesto penne pasta. Everything was delicious. I brought some pasta, a loaf of bread, a cookie and some of the Thai coconut chicken soup home for later. Will be back for sure next time we are in the area. Tiffani was the best!!

The service was very good and all of the staff friendly and accommodating, even letting me sub onion rings for fries in the fish and chips, which they don’t usually do. But I was quite disappointed in our meals, given the rave reviews and recommendations. I was excited to have battered fish and onion rings, and my non-celiac husband ordered the chicken tenders which were described as “lightly breaded”. The coating on everything was very thick (one chunk of batter I peeled off an onion ring had a big chunk of dough) and over-cooked to a dark hue. The chicken tenders were hard to bite and the chicken inside was dry. There wasn’t a manager there so I let a server know about our experience (though she must have noticed the huge pile of peeled off batter on my plate), after paying the check and our tip so she was wouldn’t think we were just trying to get a break on the cost. I wanted to ask if they had a new cook as an explanation for the food but didn’t. I do hope this was a one-off since it is so highly regarded by other people with celiac.

My friend has Celiac and this Almond Butterfly Bistro (and the other cafe location) are tried and true, delicious food and cross contamination is not an issue since it’s an entirely gluten free menu. Staff is always accommodating and able to explain their process for preparing food and coming up with solutions. There are vegan options as well as meats, and they have delicious desserts. We both enjoy ordering online/uber eats, as well as eating in house, highly recommend the haddock fish and chips!
