I had high hopes for this option based on the reviews, but there were some caveats that lead to a lower rating for me, personally:
- unclear menu
- "modern" Thai (not traditional)
The biggest issue for me was the menu and lack of clarity around what is and isn't safe for me to eat. Most likely because of the pandemic, they switched to a QR code menu that you then order verbally to the waitress from. The online menu does not mark GF items and lacks clarity. Some items mention gluten and others don't, but it is not consistent and you could easily be glutened if you don't ask thorough questions. The waitress seemed unsure about which items were safe or not, though she was willing to ask the kitchen.
The restaurant is listed as "modern" Thai. However, the flavors just weren't for me. I had pad Thai, and their version had a heavy tomato based sauce with thin noodles. My partner had the drunken noodles, which was tasty, but again, did not taste like any other drunken noodle I've had elsewhere and had thin noodles. We ordered both "mild" and they came more "medium" spicy.
The portions were generous, and the service was good. The spring rolls were gluten free and delicious and arrived quickly.
