American House Woodfired Pizza

I called to see if the pizza at the restaurant is GF for celiac. All pizzas are cooked together in the same oven on the same surface — also GF is not cooked in a pan to avoid touching the surface (none of the pizzas are cooked in a pan). The person I spoke with was rude and sounded as if she was sick of fielding questions about their GF protocols. She told me if I had looked on the website, the entire process for GF is spelled out. Of course that is where I had started, and the website has the following disclaimer: “We strive to accommodate our guests with special dietary needs by providing gluten-free options. However, please be advised that American House is neither a nut, nor gluten-free zone. American House cannot guarantee that any menu item will be completely free of any allergen in question.” As we all know many restaurants that are safe for celiac have similar disclaimers. Hence my phone call to the restaurant to clarify. They would save themselves a lot of headaches if they just said on the menu “not safe for celiac.” Unfortunately the previous restaurant at the location, owned by the same owner, did have GF options. Disappointed that they no longer do and we can no longer patronize their restaurant.
