Waitress didn't know if they had a gluten free menu. She checked and came back with a binder. French fries were listed as being gluten free. I asked if they had a dedicated fryer. She checked with the manager and said NO they use the same fryer to cook wings and a number of other items. I ordered just chips and salsa because they are not very knowledgable
I was given a gluten free menu but when inquiring further about how certain items were prepared, many of those items were obviously contaminated enough to make someone with celiac quite sick. Be careful here. I let them know about it but I haven't been back to see if they do anything differently now.
Food is really good. Just tell the waiter you have celiac and she will bring you the allergy free menu
We went for dinner.... we were desapointed. although the server,Russ was great and helpfull, it is clear that this chain has not much idea about Gluten allergy.... their menu was difficult to read.... and many items even considered gluten free were not realy gluten free
They will print out an incomplete, somewhat hard to follow allergen listing menu for you. I wanted cole slaw, it wasn't on there and their packages didn't contain the ingredient list. I ended up having the ribs and rice. It was not only delicious but I haven't had any problems.
Scary! Opened silverware, BIG bread crumb on fork. When ordering, specified "gluten allergy" & server said "so u want us to go easy on everything?" Really. Talked to manager abt apparent ignorance, crumb on fork & stuff floating in my water. They brought another glass w matter floating in it. Poorly managed, untaught staff & less than ideal conditions. Worst restaurant in the 2 yrs since being diagnosed w CD. Too early to tell if they glutened me but need I say more?
Nothing special, but does the job.
Several items to choose from. Be sure to tell your sever!
Waite staff were very helpful. Came in & asked for GF menu, received it right away. I had Blackened Talipia w/o the blackening. It comes w/seasonal veggies & fried red potatoes. All very good. They have vanilla ice cream too. Try it if you ever get to West Memphis, AR.
Celiacs avoid ALL Applebees. Their nationwide website promotes their gluten-free options, but one location's failure disqualifies all locations. If we were not with people we had invited (here due to their website info), we would have left when the hostess said they did not have gluten free-my wife insisted they did and they did find and allergen list, but cross contamination had its worst effect on my wife that she has experienced in months.
