Aunt Betty's Ice Cream Shack

Went here in the summer of 2022 and summer 2023. As soon as we mentioned the need for gluten free, the girls knew what to do. Gloves were changed and the gluten free options and safeguards were communicated with us. As usual, the soft serve was GF. They had GF cones. My kids wanted jimmies, so they opened a new container to avoid any possibility of cross contamination. On both visits, the girl helping us took charge and made her coworkers clearly aware that she was working on a GF order and not to get in her way. These people were serious about making sure our order was GF. AND… they were very kind. Also, on both visits it was very crowded and that didn’t seem to bother them. As always, don’t let your guard down, but this is a place i feel comfortable with. I have celiac disease and so do two of my children.

My celiac daughter eats 🍦 at Aunt Betty’s all the time and it’s safe and the staff is knowledgeable. Highly recommend in OCNJ!

Very confident there is no cross contamination here. They use different scoopers and pull a fresh tub from the back, also have GF cones. My wife, who has celiac, loved coming here. Went back multiple times on our trip. Highly recommend.

Staff asked if we wanted gluten free due to allergy or not. One of the staff members has celiac and offered to open a new ice cream tub and dish it out with new scoop. Also have gluten free cones.
