Bab Korean Bistro

I’m celiac but my dad really wanted Korean food so I took him here. I was surprised to find that the server knew exactly what I could have, and there were a few options. I wouldn’t come here for the GF options necessarily, but if you’re with friends, there’s plenty to eat. I got the Bi bim bap with tofu. The server said the sauce wasn’t GF so she brought me GF soy sauce. I think next time I’d get the Japchae with shrimp which she said is GF. She also knew which sides I could have. (The kimchi is not GF.)

I’m not the type to write reviews but I felt I should warn other fellow celiacs before they are misled by the previous 5-star review! Came here for my boyfriends birthday. Asked the waitress about gluten-free options and she didn’t really know. The next waiter told me the only two options that can be made gluten free. I chose one and we ordered. They waited until my boyfriends order arrived to let me know that the option I chose (they had previously told me could be made gf) cannot be made gf and that the only thing I could have was the other option. I changed my order and waited half an hour for my order to be made while my boyfriend sat with his food (already cold by this point). No one checked in with him about his food or for anything really. By the end we had to literally scream across tables to get their attention for the check bc they did not stop by the table once the entire hour and a half we were there (we tried to do this as respectful as possible). Subpar gluten free options and honestly terrible service overall :/ would give this place 0 stars if I could.

10/10 experience eating here. Staff was super knowledgeable when I brought up cross contamination, I didn’t have to explain myself at all. Our waitress told me exactly which options were gluten free/could be made gluten free. Food was delicious, can’t wait to go back!
