Review of Babbo Italian Eatery

I love their food here. They are good about taking care of a gluten allergy, as well as other food restrictions if needed. They will customize dishes for you if you ask. They lost stars for poor variety of gf options when they clearly have the ingredients on hand to make more of their dishes gf, being too expensive when you need to make substitutions with things that actually cost much less (especially when it appears as if they make everything from the bottom up for each individual order), and for not educating all of their staff about food allergies. I have learned to stress the importance of my needs because about 5% of the time I'll get someone working there who has no idea, and I have gotten sick twice due to crossover. One time they even left croutons on a dish after clearly emphasizing that it was gf! Normally they do take great care to prepare foods appropriately, even taking explicit precautions in the kitchen. And bend over backwards to make sure it's gf! But there is that periodical off person you'll get who has no idea. We eat here about once a month.
