Back East has been one of my favorites since they opened, and I was relieved post celiac diagnosis to know that I could still eat (most) of my favs. Their falafel and fries are safe as they do not fry anything containing gluten, and all their plates can be made gf by removing the side pita bread. Their menu is clearly marked. Though their fries are not marked gf for some reason, I’ve confirmed by talking with the owner that they are.
Really incredible food and I’ve never felt sick eating there. Highly recommend!
UPDATE: apparently they do occasionally make their pita chips in house. I’ve found I can call ahead and they’re confident about whether the the oil is safe at the moment. Fwiw, I still haven’t had any issues afterwards after 5+ visits.

The service is quick and excellent. Their menu items are clearly marked gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian. All of their dinner plates are gluten free. Each meal comes with enough food for 2 meals.
