We had called earlier in the day but were surprised that evening they had our table waiting for our party of 7 and ushered us right in! We were assigned a server (Chloe) very knowledgeable about the earmarked gluten free and dairy free items. The staff and chefs deferred to her and happily substituted or adjusted things for everybody. Very interactive. She was our advocate with the chefs— and the management was happy as a clam that we were very satisfied. Really good food! All was well.

If you have celiac, this is not the place for you. Ordered a burger with no bun and tortilla chips after explaining that my son has celiac. The burger came to the table with sautéed onions, mushrooms, tortilla chips (deep fried) and French fries (no dedicated fryer and never ordered them). Sad to see his disappointment at the lack of understanding.

Absolutely WONDERFUL! I have celiac disease and am very sensitive to cross contamination. My husband talked to the owner ahead of time (he's my gluten warrior) and she assured him they could take care of me. Upon entering the restaurant later, she greeted him and had us seated. She then told our waiter, Colin, about my celiac and he asked tons of questions in a polite way and went back and forth to the kitchen to make sure everything was safe and would be cooked separately. For an appetizer we had bacon wrapped scallops and they were delicious! I had the filet mignon for my entree and they were able to make the ragu with a cornstarch thickener instead of a flour thickener and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. For dessert, they let me know the names of all the ingredients of the panna cota so I could verify they were gluten free and they were - wonderful dessert!

The owner and Colin were so gracious and understanding - I didn't feel like a hassle or burden at all. It's been about 24 hours and I've zero reaction so I know they were being true to their word in keeping me safe. I wish they had items marked as gluten free on the menu, or even had a separate gluten free menu, but they walked me through each menu item and tripled checked everything with the kitchen. Thank you, Back Porch Restaurant, for giving us an amazing wedding anniversary dinner on vacation!!!!

Quite a few clearly delineated gluten free menu items. The food was excellent. The server was excellent. And the ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Highly recommend. I do not have celiacs disease but sensitivities. And they were very accommodating of a dairy sensitivity also. Good place!
