We had a great dinner at Balliceaux last night. I should mention I am also dairy free. At first it seemed there were many GF choices and I was delighted to see menu items labeled GF, vegan or vegetarian. However, when I pressed for certainty about the safety of many dishes, I learned that there is no dedicated fryer and the appetizer with hoisin sauce was maybe not so gluten free. Nevertheless, the waiter was patient and helpful and I ordered a braised chicken with blackberry coulis, roasted leeks and a specially prepared butter-free risotto. They also had a GF DF dessert, which is always a bonus. It was coconut rice pudding with ginger mango sauce. Too sweet for my taste but still I was happy to be able to order a dessert other than sorbet. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, delicious food.

Multiple gf options available on menu. GF beer options. Knowledgable staff. Trendy but comfortable environment. The cauliflower appetizer is excellent.
