Very knowledgeable about Celiac and cross contamination! I had a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich that was delicious with no reactions. Came back for lunch and had the chickpea sandwich again on GF bread. They prep everything in a separate space. Great food and great experience overall!

Super friendly staff who reassured me they prep everything in a dedicated space with separate utensils. Their GF sandwiches were great and they have GF take away pastries, as well. Highly recommend!

I can’t recommend Battle Grounds more for gluten free folks visiting Harpers Ferry! Everyone at the counter and in the kitchen is understanding of celiac and cross contamination procedures. They have one gluten free bread in stock (sometimes it’s “white bread” other times “wheat bread” made off premises to avoid cross contamination) and can use it for any of the breakfast sandwiches or hot/cold lunch sandwiches. For the hot sandwiches, the bread is heated in the same oven as regular bread (placed on its own tinfoil) and as a sensitive celiac I didn’t have any reaction. The breakfast and lunch options are DELICIOUS (so good we went back twice) and the coffee is also great! Must visit.

Gluten free bread for all sandwiches, plus gluten free cookies and Rice Krispie treats. I ate here twice during my visit to Harpers Ferry.

Very knowable about gluten free and cross contact. Explained everything they do to prevent contact (separate cutting board, utensils, and cooking tray). Food was delicious. Gluten free bread is a little bit smaller than their normal sized sandwiches, but worth it. My gluten free family members said it was the best gluten free grilles cheese sandwich they have had. No reaction.

Had a delicious breakfast sandwich on GF bread.

We went for lunch while in Harper’s Ferry for the day. They can make any of the sandwiches on GF bread. I had the BLT without mayo. It was fine, but it wasn’t extraordinary. I’m not complaining. In an ideal world, they would have had a dedicated GF toaster. But, other than that, all was good.

We were in town for some New Years hiking and excited they were open. All sandwiches can be done gluten-free- we got two breakfast and two lunch sandwiches and all were very tasty. True test though- no one has gotten ill!

Ordered the BLT sandwich on GF bread. They seemed to take precautions seriously and I didn’t get sick afterwards. They also had GF chocolate chip cookies baked in house. I didn’t try them

Staff was very nice - they make their own (gluten full) bread there so their sandwiches are very large normally. Dissatisfied with the size of the GF bread they have she made me two sandwiches so that I wasn’t shorted on the experience ha!
A variety of sandwich options with gluten free bread.
