Had a great experience here! The gluten free menu is right on the counter as you order. The fish Taco I had was delicious with a great ice Tortilla. And no gluten issues! Don't have the fries, they use a shared fryer, but they substituted gluten free clam chowder, which was also great. I've been here several times now and haven't had an gluten issues.

The clam chowder is gluten free! Ask for their gluten free menu. We had oyster shooters and the chowder. Wife is very gluten sensitive, allergic to wheat, and they had zero reaction!

The menu doesn’t show the gf options. You have to ask. They offer a grilled cod or salmon instead of battered. I got the cod. It came w pico, avocado, fries on bed of lettuce. It was really good. The cocktail sauce is a bit spicy to me. They offer Stubborn sodas. I was excited that the agave cream soda didn’t even use corn syrup like most and pretty sure it is gluten free. The food was really good and I’d recommend it. I rated Safety less because I do not know if fires are cooked separately but they do not have a batter. I rated variety less because there aren’t many options.

Rude server and the only GF options are tacos. Disappointing since they use to have GF chowder and fresh crab. We left when we found out what the place has become.

Edit: I think things changed since Covid and I can’t figure out their new gf protocols. (Old review: The staff was really knowledgeable. The woman who took my order was empathetic and aware because her mom has celiac disease. Many options on the menu could be made gf. It was so great to have so many choices. I ended up getting the Dungeness crab cheddar sandwich that they made on a teff tortilla so it was a delicious quesadilla. Also the chowder is gf and delicious. Such a great meal.

This is a little edit off of an experience I had there a few years ago. They were so confident that their gf items were safe and I left the review where I raved about them up for so long. Revisiting that experience though, I ultimately got glutened. So no, they’re not safe. Try the Oyhut grill for good gf items.

I have eaten here several times and have been told the French Fries were cooked in a separate fryer. We my sever was honest and said the cook the chicken tenders in the same one. Also the Caesar salad dressing has wheat in it. I was so disappointed. I remember not feeling great after eating there but thought it was just because of eating fried food. It is very dangerous that they honest with their customers.

Food was good but not special. Service was reasonably good; you order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Separate bar area so you order and pay in two different places. Fries were really good. They put my crab melt on a gf tortilla. This surprised me as I was expecting it on gf hamburger bun but was good. My wife had the burger. Again okay, not special. Fresh toppings but a frozen meat patty cooked dry.

I was so excited for a seafood place with a dedicated fryer - unfortunately when I got there I was told it isn't truly dedicated for fries only. Yhey have a separate ftyer for the fresh batter items, but use the other fryer for fries and frozen items (I'm guessing that means chicken tenders etc.). I got the crab and cheddar patty melt, which comes on a GF tortilla grilled, kinda like a quesadilla. It was good and I risked the fries and took to gluten digestive enzymes. Slight reaction but tolerable. ☹
So many options here - I wish I could have more time in the area to eat here again! I ordered the Dungeness Crab and Cheddar melt that came with fries from a dedicated fryer and clam chowder. Both were delicious! They also offered grilled fish as an option for their fish and chips. Knowledgeable staff, even brought up that fry seasoning ingredients are GF but it's not made in a dedicated facility. Highly recommend this place!
Yes
Delicious GF fish taco! Their soft tacos come in a burrito-sized tortilla & are generously filled. Tortillas also do not crack & crumble like so many GF tortillas do. Hubby said cod fish-n-chips were tasty, too. Bennett’s also has a dedicated fryer & fries were perfectly crispy outside/soft inside. Our waitperson was knowledgable about their GF menu items & made great recommendations, even mentioning that fries normally came w/Johnny’s seasoning salt (contains gluten) so mine would not come salted.
Can’t avoid cross contamination. However, Fries have dedicated fryer. Ask for “no salt” because it is seasoned and not GF. Soft Tacos and chowder, burgers are reasonably friendly. Unfortunately they gave my daughter the wrong order. Luckily it was a GF fish wrap but she ordered Chicken. We felt nervous at that point and she didn’t eat any more. Other food was very good.
Yes
Used to be gluten free for almost everything. Now only the fish tacos are gluten free. Bummer.

Happy girl! Get the Best of the best for dinner/ lunch...order a lemon drop to go with...you'll be happy too ;-)
DO NOT GO HERE!!! They told me they were out of tortillas for fish tacos, so only option was burger with fries. I went with this. First order was brought on regular bun. I kindly explained why it had to be fixed, the nice young waiter apologized, took it back up to counter (I was watching), removed burger and brought me back my fries to eat when I waited. I of corse avoided those since the bun was sitting in said fries. He brings out the (maybe) new burger on GF bun. I knew I shouldn't eat it, but I did. 3 days of sickness followed. The others in my party enjoyed their meal, so you can recommend for your gluten eating friends, but opt to just have a water for yourself!

Not Celiac friendly, did not understand cross contamination. My dau could not eat🙁
No
Had several gluten free options but horrible service. Had a large group with a celiac and non celiacs. Took over half an hour to receive my dish, by that time everyone was already done eating. (The restaurant was completely empty except in the bar) The chowder was accidentally dumped on my lap. Luckily the supposedly "hot" chowder was cold upon arrival. No one in our group was pleased with their meals.
Yes
delicious food and the best part I didn't get sick!
Loved this place before I was Celiac, and was thrilled that I can still eat there. The fish "taco" (it's actually a burrito) is made GF by subbing a corn tortilla, fish is grilled, fries are amazing and cooked separate! Good clam chowder too.
Yes
Clam chowder was amazing! Cod was grilled and fries super yummy. I would have given it 5 stars, but fish was not seasoned. Get the fish tacos! Yum
Yes
Very helpful in telling us what they had
Yes
The GF fish tacos were some of the best I've had! It's a pretty large portion so I couldn't finish my GF french fries (but I tried). They had lots of GF options... GF buns for the burgers, GF clam chowder, and more. If this was in Seattle where I live I'd be here frequently!
I never saw anything about GF on their menu but, the staff was definitely knowledgable about GF and celiac.
Yes
Bennett's was very noisy and my friends and I could hardly hear each other. However, with enough questioning of the right staff person I was able to confirm that the gluten-free taco and french fries were actually prepared in a manner that avoid cross-contamination. The first staff person, who took my order, did not tell me I would be getting french fries and at first I didn't eat them because I wasn't sure there was a separate preparation oil. But then I found out there was, after I was done with my meal, so I took the french fries to go and they were very good. I am going to wait to see if I have any reaction before I would consider higher than a three star rating.
The food was good. They had GF clam chowder, fish tacos, and burgers. It was however fairly expensive for a fast food fashioned store. It was $80 for four of us to eat, three being GF. There was also a not so great after taste a couple hours later. Overall it was good and had good service, and they seemed knowledgeable about GF and celiac.
Yes
Very good food. Gluten free options. Clam chowder was GF. Knowledgeable staff.
Yes
Dungeness crab and cheddar melt was delicious!
The gf fish sandwich was amazing! I was also impressed the clam chowder was gf and it was delicious too!
Yes
Awesome! Clam chowder was great. Very knowledgeable weight staff!
Yes
Clam chowder was soooo good! Creamy, just like I remembered it from my pre-celiac days. Also, the fish tacos were far more substantial than I expected and very good. Great experience!
Fantastic GF fish Taco. Best thing on the menu! Also GF clam chowder. You'll love it...
I ordered the crab cheese melt as a quesadilla with a cup of chowder. They said they had GF bun and tortillas, and GF clam chowder. It was yummy! They can also do GF fish tacos with grilled cod, and several salad options. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They do not have a dedicated fryer, so I'd avoid the fries.

Got glutened 😣 they serve sandwiches on top of their fries. Decided to risk it as the bread was gf and the server was clueless about the fries but either it was made on a contaminated grill or the fries were heavily coated and I was left very I’ll that evening. I’ve since been back and made sure to make different choices and no accidental fries and have had better luck. Not super confident dining here though.

Not very celiac safe. They don’t have separate prep/cook areas so you can easily get cross contaminated. They do have salads and their clam chowder is gf, so I tried that. If you’re just gluten intolerant, they have options— burgers and tacos can be made gf.

Great experience. They do not have a GF menu but the cashier took time to make suggestions and answer all my questions. I had the fish soft taco with a side salad. Their fryer is not dedicated GF.
