Review of Big T's Seafood Market Bar

Called ahead and asked if they can accommodate a gluten free diet. I was initially told no, then spoke with Chef Dave who said he would inform the Chef on the day of our event and they could accommodate. Arrived for my friend's birthday, Chef T himself greeted us, said that he was not informed of the gluten free request but happily obliged, saying he was used to cooking gf personally. He oversaw all our dishes and was very careful about cross contamination. That being said, the waitstaff was not very aware of gluten free issues, and the Chef came running to my plate just as I was about to take a bite of appetizer, saying he was making another for me specifically. Overall, great atmosphere, thoughtfulness with the fresh, organic ingredients and the dishes themselves were amazing. Can't go wrong with anything you order, and if Chef T is there he will walk you through each dish. One star off because they are not rated with the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch.
