The food was delicious (10/10 brisket), and the staff very knowledgeable. They had a sign at the front listing what was gluten free, and the fries are fried in a separate fryer. They also flagged my order as an allergy and then brought it out separately.

Great experience all around! I stopped here for lunch on the way back from Blue Ridge (which itself has a lot of gluten free options). I ordered the two meat sampler plate with pulled pork and brisket. You get two sides so I ordered cole slaw and green beans. The girl who took the order made sure to note my order was GF. The girls who delivered the food to my table also made note that my plate of food was gluten free.
The star of the show is the meat. It’s perfectly cooked so that you don’t need sauce, but since I love bbq sauce, I still put some on the meat. As previous reviewers have noted, there is one GF sauce (sweet n smoky). My gluten eating companion thought that was the best sauce of the six on the table.
At 19 dollars, it isn’t a cheap lunch, but it’s filling and there is no option to tip so I’m guessing they’re able to pay their workers a living wage. Will definitely come back on the way through.

Great experience here!! Food was delicious and staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination. The sign indicating the gluten free choices and foods is on the wall at the register, not on the main menu board. I will definitely be back!

My favorite BBQ restaurant! GF offerings are clearly listed on the menu, with lots of options available. Just ask them to leave off the bread when you order (would be nice for restaurants to take a buck off your order when you don’t get the bread that comes with the meal, but I’m dreaming, of course…). Food is always consistently good, even the sides, which most restaurants just let slide… Inside seating, or casual outdoor seating under cover. Pet friendly; lots of space to park if you have a RV or are towing a camper. It takes us a full half hour to get there, but it’s worth the drive!

Wow! Big sign on the wall about their gluten free details, telling you how to order to keep it GF.. all smoked meats are GF as long as kept dry .. the only sauce that is GF is 'thick and Smokey'. Dedicated fryer for the fries!
Plenty of GF alergy tags were added to order/visible on the receipt.
Dine in, takeout window or drive up ordering.
Dream come true.

Great barbecue! All meats are gluten free and they have a gluten free menu on the wall along with the regular menu. They also have one GF barbecue sauce that is called thick and smokey. Great food and a dedicated fryer!

I have eaten here several times and had a great experience each time. Their meats are gluten free and they have a gluten free bbq sauce you can add. The brisket and mashed potatoes are great. Add your own sauce and butter as desired. They also have gluten free salad dressings. The allergy menu is available on their website at https://www.bigunsbbq.com/allergies-gluten-fee-vegetarian
