Visiting Maine with Celiac. After having a little bit of a tricky time finding a place that would be safe and had an available rezi we settled on Bird & Co. When I called the person on the other end of the line assured me they would have no problem serving me safely. Upon arriving I learned that their fryer wasn’t safe and that took away many options. I ended up with the Tijuana, Fish taco with blackened fish and the Bahn Mi. I was a little nervous as a different server took our food order than the one who told me about the fryer. I am also dairy free and when they initially came out one had cheese. The food runner tried to tell me he’s already caught one as having gluten and had it exchanged and I could tell he kinda wanted me to keep the one with cheese. I insisted that no, I needed a new one and he took it back for a replacement. All were delish! I would definitely go back. Just beware that many options are off limits (including their chips) if you’re Celiac or highly sensitive to gluten. Sorry for no photos, I was so hungry and they looked so good I forgot!
