pizzookie is what brings me there! I usually order to-go because it takes FOREVER to get through a meal in that restaurant. make sure they actually give you a gluten free pizzookie (I've accidentally been given a regular one before)
I ordered the gluten-free pizza to-go. The pizza is thin crust and comes with sauce and cheese. Each additional topping is $1.00 extra or $2.00 extra for grilled chicken. I only added grilled chicken and green peppers, because I thought the toppings were overpriced. Overall, I enjoyed the pizza. I always eat very healthy, so this pizza was good to me.
Staff was helpful, no printed GF menu available. The GF pizzas was good but not your traditional expectation of pizza. And the GF chocolatechip pazookie dessert was DElICIOUS but SUPER rich. I would go back.
Upon returning to Baton Rouge after living in Knoxville for 7 years, I was excited to find a brewhouse with a gluten free menu. After arriving, I was dissapointed that the beer was Redbridge in a bottle...they didn't even offer me a glass with it. The waiter knew absolutely nothing about the gluten free menu options and I had to ask twice for a menu. We waited 30 minutes to get our drinks there and my beer wasn't cold. The gluten free pizza was good, but pricey because I had to pay for each topping separately. After dinner, the waiter brought us our check without asking if we wanted dessert, and we had to wait 15 minutes to find him again and tell him. The pizzookie was RAW and disgusting. I couldn't even eat it. They didn't offer any apologies. He brought us the check again and walked away so we never got the coffee that we wanted. We questioned the waiter about this and all he could say was that it was company policy to bring the check out early to keep the people moving. All in all, we were there for 2 1/2 hours with all the waiting-boy that's really keeping them moving! I NEVER write reviews-EVER but this place was the worst. I will never return there again.
Dessert was awesome! Balsamic chicken without the onion strings - chicken was a tad dry but otherwise yummy. Staff very knowledgeable.

I usually have good experiences here but this time was different. They had GF buns for an extra cost but they fell apart not a big surprise! My food came out about twelve minutes later than the rest of my party's did. Some non GF food was burnt, cold and not good. Out of our party of 9 we paired for 5 meals because they made some of the meals free sense they were late or burnt plus they gave us two free meal vouchers.
This was the first time I ate here, I was amazed at how good the food is and how careful they were with my order. I have a severe case of Celiac Disease and I'm extremely sensitive. I didn't get sick at all after eating here!! I loved their GF broccoli and cheese soup and their roasted brussel sprout salad. It was delicious!!
They have a gluten free menu and I have eaten here a number of times without getting sick. Also they have ciders!!
We came to BJ's for two main reasons. 1st they were open until 12am (midweek) so we didn't have to feel odd for dining at 11pm when other places were getting ready to close or were already closed. 2nd we had seen on other sites that they were gluten Intolerant friendly. They even had their own gluten-free menu. I will agree, the Brussels sprouts were very yummy. I hate every one of them! I would definitely order them and recommend them. I had the jambalaya. It had a "blackened" flavor more so than a spicy or Cajun flavor. It was different than I expected, but still very good. My partner, who has celiac disease, ordered the gluten-free pizza. (I was allowed a small bite) The cheese was good. Didn't taste like your typical pizza cheese. For being gluten-free it was tasty. The other couple dining with us had the jalapeño burger and shrimp pasta. Both said they enjoyed there meal. Our waitress was awesome. Never an empty glass. She never made us feel rushed, even though we were the last people in the restaurant. It was a good dining experience and would eat here again if in the area.

Nice people, but the worst gf pizza I have ever had! The crust - on all 4 pizzas - was hard and difficult to chew, the "extra" cheese was ignored, and there was not enough sauce to even cover the crust - even though we ordered double! We ate the toppings - scant as they were - and threw the crusts away. In fairness, the manager offered to replace them when I called, but we all decided to stick with PizzaRev from now on. UPDATE: I ended up returning on New Years Day and the pizza was much better this time. I learned that it is best to specify that you are ordering GF due to allergy so that a manager makes your food. Also, I let them know that I had a bad prior experience, which helped in getting my order right. Consequently I am revising my rating from 1 to 3 stars.
We always get the gluten free pizza. The crust is fantastic! The staff is pretty knowledgable about Celiac Disease and relaying the message to the kitchen that the meal is for someone with Celiac or a "gluten allergy". They assure that the staff changes gloves and the meal is cooked in a clean area. They also have a gluten free cookie desert that is super yummy! This is our kiddos favorite place!
Maybe this restaurant would be better in a town without other gf options, but we did not enjoy our experience at all. Being right down the street from Burton's with their endless choices, the small handful of options at BJ's left a lot to be desired. Their labeling system just complicated things. They handed us a brochure with every item marked as far as the top 8 allergens, and then their menu has a gf seal, as well. It took a lot of time switching back and forth between the two, especially being all out of order. We ended up with gf burgers, which are marked in the menu and come with fries. After my husband ate half of the fries, I noticed they were battered. WHY WOULD YOU SEND OUT GLUTEN FRIES WITH A GF BUN??? The manager came to assure me that they didn't bread the fries, only for our waitress to come to him with the cook's information that they are, indeed, breaded.
I have celiac and never had a problem here. Many GF Options.
GFree salads, pizza, cider, and full bar. They just added GF buns for their burgers. Server was very helpful and they have a comprehensive allergen menu. All of their specialty pizzas available GFree. Will dine here quite a bit after this first experience!
I celiac. This was my first time to eat at this location but I have eaten at several other locations of this chain and have never had any ill effects. I did not confirm preparation practices before ordering but I should have as this restaurant recently opened and they may not have things exactly as they should.They have a guide to help show what good have the top 8 allergens as well as gluten items marked.I have only eaten pizza and the Gf cookie.I feel like I had a little bit of a reaction but it could have been I ate too much or something else. Unsure if my reaction was cross contamination or not.They brought out a mini appetizer for my son and I was impressed by that.This used to be my favorite place for pizza but after discovering a freezer pizza by Fresecsa (spelling?) nothing is as good as it.This location pizza was not as good as I remember other locations being. I may have picked the wrong topping.I feel like as celiac I have to like stuff for what it is even if it's not as great as I would like.Just glad to have options!Please call ahead and ask questions if you need to be certain of their practices to make sure it is right for you.
I have celiac and am very sensitive. When I was less sensitive years ago I was okay, but now can't eat there, whether I get pizza or something else. I love their pizza and wish I could have it. Last time I was there the server was very nice, tried really hard, and had a relative with celiac so seemed to understand my concerns. Still got sick. I've gotten sick at multiple locations.
We actually ordered something different for once other than pizza and pizookie. We had the ribeye with mixed vegetables and asparagus. We had them cook it in a pan, not on the grill. It was excellent and they were very careful and we didn't get sick. It's nice that they accommodated us on a busy night and took the extra effort. We told our waitress (who was excellent by the way) that if they couldn't do it, we were fine with the pizza. Highly recommend and if you give them specific instructions, they are able to prepare something else besides GF pizza and pizookie!
