Blackstrap BBQ

Best BBQ we’ve had in the Boston area! We ordered two 3-meat plates that come with 2 sides each. Went with the mashed potatoes, green beans, regular slaw, and collards. The cornbread came separately wrapped which was good because other reviews said they used to not take that precaution. The four sauces/everything was amazing! Definitely will be our regular BBQ spot - looking forward to visiting in person when things start to open up.

— Excellent

We ordered a large amount of food for a small family gathering and everything was good. There were both gluten free eaters and gluten eaters and everyone was happy. The woman who answered the phone and took our order did a great job helping me pick out safe items and she ever checked with the chef when she wasn’t sure about something.

My sister and I both have Celiac and we have been here numerous times without getting sick. We just always request to get our meals without cornbread because it is not gluten free. The staff does not seem super knowledgeable about gluten allergies, but since so much of the food is naturally gluten free we have not had any issues.

We have been here twice. They are somewhat aware of ingredients. They keep including cornbread with entrees even though they said it has wheat. They have GF items listed on their menu but not the best option if you are Celiac.
