Bled Castle Restaurant

We had dinner here and although it was a splurge, it exceeded our high expectations. Service was mostly very good, with good descriptions of the courses served on the set menu, and very good wine (by the glass) recommendations with each course. However, the service got slower as more guests were seated (including a couple of large groups) and we waited quite some time for our desserts and finally the check.

This restaurant accommodated my needs with flying colors.

The food was fantastic and well worth the fixed price cost. After the amuse and choice of fresh breads, GF too, we chose the duck and pear starter, which was absolutely Devine! For the main course we chose the pork tenderloin with cabbage and cauliflower purée. Another fantastic course; the cauliflower was excellent (and it is usually not my favorite vegetable). The cabbage could have been more cooked. For dessert I got a gluten-free nut cake, which was the only part of the meal that was disappointing (it was not at all sweet and tasted bland).

Reservations are required, and we recommend making them a week in advance, as there are only a few tables next to the window with a view of Lake Bled. We were a few tables back from the window but only made our reservations 2 days in advance; but one can still get up and take photos if you are seated back from the window. We arrived at 6 pm and recommend getting to the restaurant no later than that, as the service gets slower as the restaurant fills up.
