Blowfish Sushi

Plus: they had a gluten free menu. Minus; very limited offerings, gf sushi is made with plain unseasoned instant white rice so is not really sushi at all. The server said “sushi rice has gluten”, not OUR sushi rice has gluten”. Seems like they offer gf because they have to and they’re certainly not trying to make gf eaters happy.

The person who took care of us was super knowledgeable and gave us their gluten free menu, which pointed out which dishes I could have. I had to request a rice with a different vinegar, but it wasn’t that much hassle. The food was great - we got the Pyramid of Tartar, which was both delicious and artistic. The garlic soy edamame could be made with gf soy sauce and was possibly the best edamame I have had. The sushi and sashimi we ordered were good, and it was great to be able to have delicious, gluten free food and not have to worry about it.

Staff was friendly. Asked questions and were curious and willing to learn about celiac beyond the knowledge they had. Gluten free menu. Caution: Tartar comes with homemade potato chips but are fried in shared fryer. Not indicated on GF menu that fryer is shared.

Server was extremely helpful and found us dishes that could be made GF. I'll be back often.

Good at dealing with GF. Staff is quite knowledgable

Great sushi. They have a gluten free reference sheet for the staff of things they can make gluten free though they don't hand it out to the public. They can also do sushi with steamed rice instead of sushi rice. It actually is more flavorful. Staff however has mixed knowledge about gf so make sure to ask. They have tamari. Don't have anything made with dashi - one of their sushi chefs who really knows his stuff told me it has gluten in it.

Great restaurant but not all Gluten free friendly. Their rice has gluten and all the sauces. They were able to make me a pot of rice without gluten but the waitress mentioned that if they are busy they would not be able to accommodate.
