I am now forced to change my once glowing review due to one of the most unpleasant dining experience that resulted in cross-contamination and misery. I will not risk it again.

Delicious food with a beautiful view! Nothing is marked gf specially on the menu, but our waiter was very knowledgeable about what I could eat. He also put a special note about my gluten allergy for the cooks. I had the fried catfish plate and it was delicious! They have a dedicated fryer so some things fried are gluten free. My husband got the brisket nachos so we could share our meals and it was the best I’ve ever had. We also got the queso, salsa, and guacamole appetizer and the chips were so fresh and queso amazing. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

I have been going here for years. I was recently diagnosed w Celiac Disease and had troubles finding places to eat around town. I have had a couple waiters who could answer questions with help, but Jean was awesome and offered a lot of recommendations. Their raw oysters are GF. They have a separate frier for GF food - fries, tortilla chips, cornmeal fried fish, cornmeal fried okra etc. We really love the brisket nachos, lotta lotta garlic chicken, okra (wood grilled and fried now that I know it’s GF), fish tacos, and LAWTON MARGS!! They have way more GF options than I even knew - just wish they had it marked on their menu! Chimichanga, fried shrimp, any fish w soy listed, and anything w a bun or bread is not GF.

I thought I could get fried chicken but they couldn’t do it so I got voodoo chicken and it was really good! It’s rotisserie chicken put in the fryer. And I also got fries. Lots of gf options for grilled seafood.

I’ve been here 3x and have had a great experience each time. No GF menu, but staff is knowledgeable. I get the pork nachos and they’re AMAZING.

Good experience! Based on other reviews I thought I might be able to have a variety of fried seafood but that's not the case. Still enjoyable tho! I had a decent margarita, raw oyster app and fried catfish and fries. (Waitress omitted slaw due to it not being gluten free.)

The boathouse is wonderful and has many options for those of us with celiac. The menu wasn’t marked and the server had to tell us what could be made gluten free. I had the fried catfish and fries and it was really good. The guacamole was fine, but not as good as I expected it would be, as they didn’t really mix the avocado and other ingredients together. The location, view, and vibe are a big reason to go here. Dining on the deck is so nice with a view of the river. They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait and grab a drink at the bar.

The staff is super knowledgeable and the food is great, but I really came here to say order the chips, queso and salsa appetizer. You will not regret it. Chips are in a dedicated fryer and the queso is so good you’ll want to drink it… promise! Didn’t love their spicy margs but you might.

When I called ahead, I talked to a man who seemed very knowledgeable in food allergies. He said anything grilled on the menu would be GF and safe to eat. They have a dedicated GF fryer and can use cornmeal for GF fried things. The menu itself doesn't have any GF markings on it.. At dinner, thr waitress came to me after putting in my order and said "I noticed the sauce with your meal had soy sauce in it so I told them not to even put it on the plate" I had an order of chips and queso/salsa as an appetizer and grilled shrimp with grilled green beans as my entree. It was so delicious! I also highly recommend the margarita.

Many of the fried dishes are coated in cornmeal, and they have a separate fryer for that, and also the fries were gluten free. Fried Catfish was delicious, and my son’s Rotisserie chicken also was gluten free and he’s a fussy celiac, and he said it was delicious.

I’ve eaten here several times and all of my experiences have been good. The staff is knowledgeable and there are some unique GF offerings. The fries are fried in a separate fryer.
