Some staff are very knowledgeable, Manager will prepare food in a separate area to minimize cross-contamination. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner so far with no problems.
We ordered off the GF menu but the omelet came out with hollandaise sauce. I ate one of the eggs my husband had ordered since it had taken a long time to get our food. Not one person asked how our meal was and every step from entrance to exit took a long time.
They have a GF menu but do not have dedicated GF prep area. Cook was not trained to prevent cross contamination. Our server was more knowledgeable than the cook and really made the effort. Unfortunately all in our party who have wheat intolerance got glutenated for breakfast.
The Service was ok. The food was good. No gluten free bread, pancakes or waffles.
I viewed the gluten free options online ahead of time. When I mentioned that I needed gluten-free, the server provided me with several options for gluten free sides. The manager cooked my chicken separately and brought it out to me directly. I really appreciated the attention they had for my meal.
Has a gluten free menu! Also has an app with the gluten free menu that helps you order! I couldn't believe it. I ate here last year and the staff took excellent care of me. Now they've gone one step further with the menu, app, and staff! I'm back again this year for supper! The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgable and the app is incredible!!! Food is excellent here as well.
The food was good, don't get me wrong, but I was definitely glutened during this visit. I came with a larger group and specified my need for a GF menu (which they do have). According to the GF menu, all omelets are safe to eat. One of their omelets has a ranchero sauce on it. I asked the waitress whether or not the sauce was GF, to which she looked at my menu and told me since it wasn't specifically listed, it probably was not. And that was the end of it. I selected a different menu item, and specifically told her to please mark it as gluten free, gluten is an allergy, and to request a glove change. Guessing by the way I feel, I don't think my requests were honored. I'm terribly disappointed.
Safe for celiacs to eat here
I eat here all of the time. I never get sick. The staff is well educated and very accommodating. I recommend it.
Very knowledgable & was informed that the grill space was cleaned before my order! Clean and friendly! Request the server, Yolanda!
I had a bacon cheeseburger with home fries. The staff made me a little nervous, from the waitress to the cook. I felt like they didn't have a lot of experience preparing gluten free meals and I was right. My burger came out with a bun! Things they did right were clean the grill properly and the manager hand-delivered the burger to the table and insured me it was gluten-free but of course it wasn't. So that meal went in the garbage and the second one was perfect. I feel it is our job to educate when necessary. Educated tonight, one waitress, one cook and one manager. It was obvious that they cared and wanted to do the right thing. I will go back! Bob
New gluten free menu
We were pleasantly suprised with our gluten free experience at Bob Evans in Hershey, PA. We asked for and received a gluten free menu. My celiac 11 year old daughter had turkey, baked potato and vegetable beef soup. She said everything was very good. We will definitely eat at Bob Evans again.
I asked for the GF menu when being seated and when ordering the waitress didn't ask any follow up questions which kind of concerned me. I asked if I could have a side of potatoes instead of the biscuits since I could have them. She simply said yes. No reaction to the food and it was tasty so that's a good thing. I got an omelette, it was good. It came with potatoes so I got the shredded hash browns and instead of biscuits got a side of country potatoes, also good.
Have eaten at several of this chain & they are always accommodating.
