This is a BBQ restaurant that also has homemade Russian food like borscht and cabbage rolls. The owner was very sweet going through the menu to explain what my daughter could have. She had the brisket and potato salad. She liked both and did not get sick. I had the smoked turkey lentil soup which they said is gluten free, and my son had the borscht. My son and I are not gluten free but both soups were very tasty. The owner mentioned that they want to make a gluten free menu. The decor is fun with old records and band photos. Definitely come by. It is also away from the aquarium crowds if you need a break from that.

Im crying. God bless your family.
The owner was very sweet and went thru the entire menu with us to ensure what our child could and could not have or how they could modify to be gluten free, safely. She could eat almost everything, btw. We all enjoyed our meals and our little one has not had any issues post meal!

We owners hear you.
The owner was very friendly and walked us through the GF options. We ordered takeout and the food was okay. My son loved the homemade bacon on his BLT and my FIL liked his brisket sandwich. My husband and I thought the 2 meat plate was just okay. Prices also seem a little high (sandwiches don’t come with sides)

Had the smoked Salmon plate. Very tasty vegetables, fish was tasty a little more cooked than I normally like. Would still come back and try other dishes like the Stroganoff.

Called before stopping by, owner confirmed a lot on the menu was gluten free and would be safe. When we arrived, the owner walked through the menu again, let us sample the BBQ sauce. Had the seasonal veggies, red beans and rice, ribs, brisket, and chicken. A truly unique establishment, so glad we stopped by.

From a gluten free perspective it seemed fine. The owner seemed lovely and was very kind.
Unfortunately the food just wasn’t very good. And was quite expensive for a lunch spot

Quaint place just off the beaten path of cannery row. Skip the touristy restaurants and visit Lighthouse Smokehouse for great BBQ! Most offerings are gf even the red beans and rice.

No Gluten-free menu; however, the owner/staff is knowledgeable about gluten. We (my wife and I) ordered the combo plate of tri-tip, ribs, and chicken with a side of potato salad and roasted veggies. Next time, I would order more veggies and less meat, as the sides are small and the meat portions are big. FYI, look out for the Russian Grandmother/owner, she speaks her mind. The vibe in the restaurant is inviting old school bar with 1970’s albums on the wall. Great music was playing at a bar volume.

Called for info and the woman said that most of the stuff did not contain gluten (like most BBQ places). We got the #2 combo and it was the best brisket and chicken. All sauces are GF. They did have cornbread ruffians but packed it in a separate container for me. They seemed to take my daughters allergies seriously and my daughter had NO reaction.

Excellent service and very friendly staff. Lots of gluten-free options, just be sure to check with the wait staff to ask. The cabbage rolls from their specials were fantastic!

Wonderful little hole-in-the-wall place. Food is delicious - had brisket & fresh roasted veggies. Everything made fresh and owner carefully went over the menu to explain what was gluten free and safe. Highly recommend!

Cute Mom and Pop with a neat a really neat atmosphere. I had stuffed cabbage rolls from the Chef’s Specials menu. They were excellent. We were there for a late lunch and were the only customers in the restaurant, so I was able to ask what I needed to. I am Comfortable that despite it not being a GF establishment, they understand cross contact. I did not get sick, and food was delicious.

Husband and I shared 3 meats, 2 sides. Brisket, ribs, tritip, grilled veggies, and cole slaw, and cornbread muffin (husband ate the cornbread). Veggies were my fave part.. Only thing we will ask next time is for the bbq sauce very light, or on the side, they were WAY too drenched for our taste, I really would prefer to taste the meat, not the sauce. Otherwise nice people, great service.

They are a Gluten free and Keto Friendly business they use no flower in any of their products besides no bread substitutions for sandwiches and the gumbo are the only non gluten options. The rest of the menu is gluten free and is amazing! Best restaurant in Monterey so far.
