Went to the restaurant on 192 freeway in the Orlando district. Although more could have been done for a gluten allergy, the servers were helpful in assisting choices. It is not impossible for a restaurant such as this to provide french fries gluten free. A recipe for gluten allergy batter is also available with wonderful results for battered fish and shrimps etc. Also...........Walmart sell frozen gluten free bread which could be served on the side with food and oil dips etc. Be bold and try harder. But.....loved the sea bass !
The food was absolutely phenomenal. I had salmon with goat cheese, spinach, artichoke hearts with lemon basil sauce with sides of spaghetti squash and broccoli. Everything was so so good and they have the best gf brownie I have ever had! The manager came over and checked on us. They really went the extra mile to make sure we were well taken care of.
My wife and I dined at this restaurant located at 4920 Thompson Parkway in Johnstown, CO last night - Ticket #0068, server Cody J. My wife has Celiac's disease and ordered from the gluten free menu. Cody was very attentive and knowledgeable about gluten free allergies and we placed our order. When the order came, there was couscous on her plate instead of the vegetable that we were expecting. We let the server know (not Cody) and asked for the meal to be replaced because of my wife's allergic reaction to eating anything with wheat. The server came back within two minutes and we asked if she just re-plated it, she said she did. Cody came by and apologized and said the had written gluten free in all caps on the ticket and they still messed it up. My wife was not only leery of the related dish, but did not feel comfortable eating the meal because of the cook's lax behavior of a customer's allergy. She sent the dish back and ate nothing. At no time did the manager come to see if there was something he/she could do to. We are very disappointed in this location, the last meal we had there was nearly a year ago and had cold soup. My hope is they do a better job of training their team to look after allergy issues with their guests. They could make someone ill, or worse.
I have had cc issues when ordering an order for pick up as they continually bag the gluten free dinners with the regular dinners. The last time this happened the young lady in the front looked into the bag (which had open bread laid in it) and said "Well, nothing is touching so it will be fine!"
Horrible. Went for lunch. Sat for 20 minutes before a waitress even came over and it was not busy. There were not many options for our 8 year old Celiac daughter....had a dedicated fryer for fries, but they weren't ready to use it yet, even though it was an hour after opening. So, we ordered Jasmine Rice. 10 minutes later, a manager comes over and tells us there is really nothing they can give her because they aren't ready to serve the rice....even though it is on their gluten free lunch menu. Not kid friendly at all for a kid with Celiac
They have GF menu but be careful what you order, sauces such as the reduced wine sauce/gravy that the waitress said was safe, had me sick. Better to stick with sauce-less entrees like grilled fish and avoid the cross contamination that happened to me.
I was glutened :( I ordered off the gf menu and reminded the waitress. It was my birthday and we rarely go out to eat. My husband and I shared a salad and my main course was 2 lobster tails. My side was asparagus and the seasonal veg was spaghetti squash. I was sick for 3 days. 2 stars instead of 1 because the food was delicious. But not worth the price I paid days after.
Good GF menu but portions are very small and not worth the price. . This recently changed
Good GF menu with lots of choices. We went around 3pm and the restaurant was pretty empty. Server was accommodating and even double checked if it was okay before he brought out bread for my husband who is not gf. I had the shrimp salad minus the tortilla strips (server was aware they contained gluten). There were a few gluten free options for dessert including a seasonal Pumpkin Creme Brule.
I got the Lilly's chicken and garlic mashed potatoes, had a crouton in my mashed potatoes which made me ill (had a bite before I saw the crouton) and staff tried to insist it was garlic, despite being hard, large, and smelling like bread (then tasting like a crouton to my husband as well). No apologies or compensation and the table next to us had received tortilla strips in their supposedly gluten free salad! They clearly are not well aware or trained here despite a dedicated menu. I do love their vanilla creme brulee and would likely go back just for that for dessert some time, as hopefully it would be safe by itself!
We stayed in Williamsburg for several days and we ate here every night. Why? Because Bonefish is reliably good at keeping this celiac safe and I was not willing to eat somewhere new to "experiment" and get sick while on vacation. That would not be fun. One night, I had the filet with whipped potatoes and it was very good, as always. The next night, I had the chilean sea bass. Excellent with the mango salsa and jasmine rice. The third time, I tried the house salad and the lily's chicken (I believe that is the name of the dish) and we had to wait over half an hour for it to arrive. We were seated at the bar. It was just so-so, truth be told. The portions are getting smaller at the Bonefish Grills, I have noticed and the drinks are getting even smaller. Bummer. For the price we pay for these entrees, I'd like to see them stop the "paring down" practices. Not a typical Bonefish Grill (from my experience)--the wait time for the food was long (and it was not even busy), although the servers were all very nice!
Get the salmon lilys style, broiled with no seasoning.
While visiting the Albany area, we dined at this Bonefish with several family members. I have Celiac Disease and I appreciate it when a server (and a restaurant) takes my dietary needs seriously. Bonefish never fails me. The Chilean sea bass was reliably good, the seasonal side of zucchini was tasty but the jasmine rice was hard as a rock. Not sure what happened there, but no one else at the table had this problem.Every else enjoyed their meals thoroughly.I have to mention however, that the portions are getting smaller at Bonefish(in every locale from Florida to NY) and for the price of the entrees, I find that disappointing. Also, the new rocks glasses some places are using--are not appealing to me--and the small pour of Bombay sapphire for that crazy price with the giant ice cubes taking up most of the glass? Not cool. Whatever happened to pouring a drink to fill a glass? All that aside, if you are looking for a safe dining experience, Bonefish is a good choice.
While traveling north from Florida, we stopped at this Bonefish for dinner. The minute, Gary our waiter came to the table, I knew we were in good hands. I have Celiac and I appreciate it when a server (and a restaurant) takes my dietary needs seriously. Bonefish never fails me. My daughter who has celiac disease ordered a GF hamburger. It came with a bun on it! When we asked for a new one to be made, it came back a little too quickly, but our server assured us a new one had been made. Our daughter reacted by the time we came home. They just aren't knowledgable about what gluten actually is.
FANTASTIC! The server (Megan, a delight!!!) was attentive and knowledgeable, and if she didn't know the answer, she was perfectly willing to find out. She suggested substitutions since they no longer have the edamame appetizer (the edamame hummus with sliced cucumbers and carrots is incredbly good!) A wonderful dinner. We'll be back!
We've dined here successfully twice in the past month. They knew what they were talking about and modified dishes for us as needed.
The only local place with good seafood AND gluten free menu? It's all good...delicious, safe, did I mention delicious, awesome waitstaff, great atmosphere, just can't say enough nice things about bonefish. (By the way when I say good seafood, I'm from Baltimore, so you know I mean it!!!)
So many options! shrimp and scallops with lemon butter sauce and creme brûlée are to die for.
