Bontà Natural Artisan Gelato

I love this place! I ate here like four times last summer and twice this summer. GF cone, delicious flavors, they always ask if I have an allergy or it’s a preference and are willing to scoop from the back. Expensive but what I shell over for a GF cone… maybe I don’t want to know how far I’d go!

I had some of the salted chocolate (which was perfectly salty - not TOO salty like most places). I also had some seasonal boysenberry. Yummm. I had the GF waffle cone which was a treat. It was a little tough and not my best experience of a GF cone but was nice to have anyhow.

Really good gelato, they were very willing to use a new scooper and scoop from the untouched side of the container. They also have gf cones but were out when I went. Most of the flavors were gf but they recommended that I chose one from the opposite side of the ones that did have gluten to minimize cross-contamination

GF cones in their own case. Scoopers took extra measures, washed hands, fresh scoopers, and scooped out of a part of the gelato that was untouched (including noticeably navigating around a chunk of another flavor of gelato that had fallen on the selected flavor). Delicious variety too!

Most of the Gelato choices are GF and very accommodating. With just a few small changes they could make it even safer for those with Celiac.

They have gf waffle cones that are in an enclosed case. Staff washed their hands. So freaking delicious and no issues!

Staff was super knowledgeable, offered to wash hands and take proper steps to ensure safety. Had the GF waffle cone with slated vanilla and cinnamon maple pecan, it was really good. Also the roasted strawberry with honey was delish. We went back two days in a row while in town because it was so good. Staff were great, good vide here for sure.

I wish I could give Bonta Gelato more than 5 stars. I had Dulce De Leche gelato on a delicious gluten free waffle cone. I also did not get sick - yay!! Once I said I had celiac they were great - washes hands, fresh scoop and scooped from a section of the tub that had been untouched. Love Bonta & hope to be back soon!

We went to Bonta twice on our trip to Bend both times I was super impressed! The second time I saw they had gf waffle cones and I asked for one, the girl working asked if it was due to an allergy, I said yes and she said excellent! Let me wash my hands and I’ll get started. Excellent training has gone into this establishment. Everything is marked clearly on the menu as well if a flavor contains gluten or may contain gluten.
