The waitress was very knowledgeable! I ordered the paella and it was very good. No reaction or anything either! Highly recommend—they take allergies seriously.

I absolutely loved this restaurant which serves Spanish tapas. The waiter was delightful, so respectful, and professional and asked the chef for a list of gluten-free options. There were several and I ordered one of each. The food was amazing, prepared to perfection. The chef had advised that one of the dishes could be problematic if you have to avoid cross contamination (because it was fried in the same oil as other foods, as I recall) and since I’m new to my diagnosis, I’m not sure how sensitive I am yet. I believe it was the garlic shrimp appetizer which was absolutely delicious. They served bread with 2 of the tapas but the waiter kept it away from my food and even asked if we wanted it removed since no one was eating it out of respect for me. I can’t say enough about how much I loved each dish, but I returned the next night and ordered the same dishes and the gluten-free beer on their menu. It was the only place I ate out while in DC and the rest of my trip I ate only known foods I brought with me. I started feeling symptoms in the airport the day after my second meal there. I’ve been sick for a week now, not as severely as when I’ve eaten bread but enough to be bothersome and uncomfortable. I believe it was the amazing shrimp dish, which was almost worth my suffering. Definitely confirmed I can’t tolerate cross contamination. Live and learn I guess.

Had heard that Boqueria is very aware of GF and cognizant of cross contamination so I went here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! I ordered the brunch paella and let them know I was very sensitive and they took it very seriously and let the kitchen know to be mindful of CC. A friend asked about the GF options a few weeks before I went and was handed this marked up menu. Had a very pleasant experience and the wait staff was amazing.

Very knowledgeable waiter/establishment- he went through the whole menu with me to mark off exactly what I could and could not have. Also talked with me about dishes with possible cross contamination vs ones that would be 100% safe. Great meal, lots of options.

Our waitress was BRILLIANT! She knew all about cross contamination, all meals that could be made GF, she had brought separately. We did bottomless brunch and I was the only one GF and she brought me my own plates. I will DEFINITELY be back!
