Stumbled upon this BBQ restaurant. While they don’t have a dedicated gluten free menu the servers are very knowledgeable about what is safe versus what to avoid. I had the brisket, corn and Brussels sprouts. They had a GF BBQ sauce that my husband thought was actually better then their regular ones. Would 10/10 recommend

The food was amazing and it was very affordable. Fries weren't safe so my mom couldn't have them but I asked for them separate so we could still taste each other's food and the staff was understanding and accommodating.

I’m partly writing this because I saw the negative review from several years ago. I tried this place anyway because I’d heard great things from friends of mine who are not gluten-free and I was craving barbecue. First off, I went when it wasn’t busy, which may have given our server more time to help answer questions. She was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Whatever she wasn’t sure if she verified with the kitchen. I ended up having an amazing meal. They brought my a specific BBQ Sauce which I guess means they use something in the other sauces. I couldn’t have the ribs due to “soya” which I read someone else mention and am still not sure what it means, but the brisket was amazing as was the pulled pork and all the sides my friend and I shared. It would be nice if they had a separate GF menu, but I overall thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Staff including manager are unknowledgeable about celiac and gluten. When I informed the server I was gluten free she did state I couldn’t have anything fried due to the shared fryer. However when I mentioned baked beans she said that was also not safe due to soya I asked if she meant soy (never heard of soya before) and she couldn’t provide an answer I told her I’m reactive to only gluten and not allergic to soy products she seemed confused so I asked for a cook or manager to see if they could explain the issue to me better. They could not and informed me no baked beans or barbecue sauce due to using a small amount of soya so I just said ok and chose other items on the menu reminding them no corn bread. My tray was brought to me with a piece of corn bread I immediately sent it back for it to simply be returned less the corn bread, again, I returned it and informed them simply taking it off the plate is not correct I needed my food remade. I would not recommend this place for those with celiac or gluten free as there are other local barbecue restaurants that can accommodate. I only provide one star due to the lack of knowledge and because I did not like my food after the fact (smoke flavor left me burping for hours). However, I did have a margarita and it was delicious. Though, the margarita isn’t enough for me to return as there are plenty of bars in Sarasota and I went there to try the food.
