I went to the Briarcliff location and they were excellent! All I asked was if the chips were fried in a separate fryer and the waiter replied and said “is this for a gluten allergy? because yes we fry the chips separately”. I felt good because I didn’t even mention being gluten free or not and the waiter already anticipated these questions, showing proper knowledge. He proceeded to tell me everything else that was gf and said he would note it for the kitchen without me asking.

I have eaten here a number of times and enjoy the patio and their happy hour. They have great salsa, guac, queso and I bring my own chips (theirs in a gluten fryer) or if I forget I ask for corn tortillas. Not all options are gf, but some tacos are and I have had the chicken enchiladas multiple times. Just make sure you are very clear with the server that you need GF. Not all of them are familiar. In a pinch ask for the manager!

Nothing on the menu is labeled gluten free or any allergies. Told the server I had gluten/dairy allergies and suggested any of the tacos. I mentioned that from being there once before we were told the steak had soy.
Server came back and recommended the chicken tacos, chicken fajitas, or shrimp tacos. Ended up getting the grilled shrimp tacos and they came out with cheese in the tacos. Luckily was paying attention close enough to realize.
Also as already mentioned, the chips truly aren't gluten free.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The corn chips made in-house at B.B. are *not* gluten-free. They are cooked in the same fryer as gluten-containing foods. When I asked if the chips were gluten-free, at first I was told yes. When I dug deeper and asked about a dedicated fryer, the clarification came out about the mixed use fryer. Their gluten sensitive menu marks many chip/dip-based starters as GF, but only the dip is GF. Disappointing and rather frustrating as the dips and salsa all looked delicious. I ordered the 3 street taco entree with the Pork Pastor meat. ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: If you order any of the taco entrees, be sure to ask that the black beans are served in a regular bowl. Normally, the black beans are served in a miniature flour tortilla taco bowl. The Pork Pastor meat is delicious, as are the black beans and pickled onions. They served the dish 1 tortilla short. All told, what I was served tasted great. The overall experience, though, was frustrating and underwhelming. Hopefully, these are growing pains that they will move out of soon.
