Bubba's

I was really upset with the service we got. The server made fun of me at the end of my meal by offering a desert that he jokingly said was free of this and free of that. I understand I have a lot of food allergies but I am not trying to be difficult. The fries are not gluten free, they have a breading on them and that is not mentioned in the menu. I would not go to this place if you don't feel like being hasseled.

We've NEVER written a bad review. Tried Bubba's based on reviews and were so disappointed we felt compelled to share our experience. After being seated we waited 10 minutes for another server to get us water. Ten more minutes our server finally came to take our order. We ordered a burger on a gluten free bun but no gluten free sides are available. Everyone else in our section was offered free sample drinks, except us. The only other time the server stopped back was to bring the check, despite her having time to ask tables next to us multiple times how it was or if they needed anything. Another ten minutes wait after finishing our meals before we could get the check. Food was mediocre at best, but way over priced. There are many fabulous restaurants in the Grand Traverse area, this is NOT one of them. We will never be back.

Unfortunately the server was not attentive at all. Didn’t seem to be knowledgeable at all regarding gluten sensitivities.

He recommended the broccoli cheddar soup which after double checking with another member of the waitstaff was found to NOT be gluten free.

Then we ordered a burger on a GF bun with a side salad and the burger was sent out with a regular bun and the salad had croutons. We sent it back and left. If you have a different server you may have a better experience.

Great burgers, option for gluten free buns. Servers are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Yes

They do seem to be knowledgeable about Celiac, as they default your side to a salad if you order the gluten-free bun.

The buns are just as big as the regular, if not bigger.

While the food was good, if you don’t like ketchup, be warned. They’ll put ketchup on your order regardless if you asked for it or not. In addition, the staff can sometimes be forgetful, giving you regular replacement buns instead of gluten-free ones.

Although they didn’t have a gluten free menu, the waitress was very knowledgeable of what my options were. Had a breakfast sandwich with a gluten free bun. Food was delicious.

EXCELLENT burger!!! I ordered the carnivore burger on a GF bun with tots and it was truly AMAZING. The bun was homemade. They do warn you that they don't have a dedicated fryer, but that little won't make my gut miserable thankfully. He ordered the chocolate shake and we shared a flourless peanut butter chocolate cake that was delicious!! Well drinks were 2 bucks after 9 PM and we had a super friendly waitress. We will definitely be back!!

Not very safe for Celiacs. They told me the tots were gluten free. I asked if they had a dedicated fryer for them. She said no, so I politely told her they aren't really gluten free then. I also question the toasting of the gluten free bun. I haven't had good luck there.

My son had s burger with gf bun and loved it. Also dining with a friend with severe dairy allergy. Waitress was knowledgeable, added allergies to ticket, and checked with the cook to make sure everything was safe. Great food! Good atmosphere for going out with a family.

GF buns available for burgers and many other Gf options. Waitress did warn us that the French fries are NOT GF. Tater tots and sweet potato tater tots are GF but fried in the same oil as non GF French fries so not a good option if Celiac. Overall food was delicious.

Was told the only thing gluten free was the buns and the sauce used on all burgers was not gf. Does not have a dedicated fryer. Before ordering the wrong food was delivered to our table. Did not feel safe eating at all.

GF bun available for all burgers and sandwiches. Had a really delicious meal and the waitress, Britney, seemed very knowledgeable about food allergies in general.

Shared Fryer is used even for their "gluten free" black bean burger, therefore NOT gluten free. Very little to no options after a long wait.

Yummy Burgers and veggie option is also GF! Enjoyed the fries(shared fryer) as my side and Mexican dip! Both delicious. Had space rock in cans!

Good food, and nice to have a GF veggie burger option for something different!

There was some confusion between soy and soy sauce. The server said it came with sauce that contained soy and wanted to make sure I didn't have any other allergies other than gluten. Turns out, she didn't mean "soy" but "soy sauce" which as we all know is liquid gluten. Luckily I knew to question this, but could have been an issue if I didn't clarify.

Amazing Burger place in the heart of Traverse City! Awesome atmosphere with outstanding burgers & very tasty gluten free buns. I had the black and blue burger medium-rare on a gluten free bun. The burger was huge and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place for burger fanatics. The staff is very knowledgeable about gluten, as the owners have many other establishments with gluten free options. They do not have a dedicated fryer, so I did not order French Fries. The burger itself was very filling. They also have at least one gluten free beer as well as a few ciders. Highly recommend visiting Bubba's if you're in Traverse City. This is a perfect establishment to bring the family for breakfast, lunch, dinner or for cocktails with friends.
