Bun Bo Hue An Nam

Delicious spicy beef noodle soup. this restaurant is an about beef, so if you are vegetarian, skip it. But, the best Vietnamese soup in the area. the broth was perfect, and the rice noodles home made.

Apparently, Andrew Zimmern came here to try out the signature dish, Bun Bo Hue Ngau Pin. My party and I were not as adventurous, and being gluten free, I was informed by the waitstaff none of the Bun Bo Hue are gf. So I stuck to standard Pho Tai- rice noodles and beef filet with a rich broth and lots of aromatics. You know it's not organic nor grass fed, probably has MSG (which is hotly debated on their Yelp page) but this is real deal Pho. There is not much more you can want from this quintessential San Jose comfort food. No reaction, no illness- I was able to communicate well with two waitstaff who understood my concerns about gluten issues. I was told by others in my party that the Bun Bo Hue and the Vietnamese Coffee were excellent. Good service, good food, less than $50 for four people. Go there.
