Gluten free English muffin was delicious
Separate menu for GF options, very helpful in answering all my questions!
I ate here with my seven year old son who has Celiac and my parents. It's a diner, which we never thought we'd be able to do again. It was our first time eating in a restaurant without a dedicated kitchen. I can't speak to how safe it actually is because I wouldn't know if there was accidental contamination, but I can speak to how safe they helped me to feel. There was an exclusive gluten free menu of several pages. We were told they cook everything separate and were warned that our food would take a long time because of that. Since it was an off hour, we really didn't wait very long. My son enjoyed the French toast, (which we were able to order with real maple syrup!) and I enjoyed a pasta dish with goat cheese and veggies. They use Barilla pasta and it was good with a large enough portion to take some home for lunch the next day. My Dad enjoyed their gluten free chocolate chip pancakes, and my Mom, an omelette. The service was friendly and efficient. All in all, I was impressed. Just the desserts didn't sound great and we didn't order any.
Great food and extensive menu. Pretty reliable place. Service could be better.
awesome gluten Free chocolate chip pancakes, great bacon and eggs and service
They claim to work with the local GF group. Maybe they do but the place is crowded and not very clean. Big menu though.
ordered gf french toast, given 4 pieces of bread with cinnamon+ sugar, but no egg wash! $11 for cinnamon toast is quite pricey I think. Does seem like they are safe for celiac however.
Had the GF pancakes and sausage. Very good. The menu is extensive will definitely come back when in NYC to try the lunch menu. 2nd visit. GF homemade chicken tenders with French fries. Tasted amazing and very large portion.
great gf place! the kids loved it. excellent pancakes, pasta and fries. will certainly come back!
Yummy GF pancakes (with and without chocolate chips) and GF french toast. Ate breakfast here on Sunday, 11 August 2013 at about 10:30 AM. A little pricy. Cafe is small and has a limited number of tables for parties of 3 or more.
Great GF menu, with lots of choices. Best GF blueberry pancakes I've had at an NYC restaurant!
I enjoyed cafe 82 until a recent experience. The waiter accidentally gave me regular french onion soup and my friend the gf. He told me distinctly that mine was gf. Three bites in I realized the mistake since there is no gf substitute that tastes like rye bread. The waiter kept saying that it was not his fault and how did I know it was not gf!! Thankfully, it wasn't enough to equal a hospital trip, just felt really crappy for a day or so....
Best restaurant with gluten free menu.
By far, the best gluten free dining experience on the Upper West Side. The staff is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable and the food is amazing! I have tried the pancakes in the morning, the burger for lunch, and pasta at dinner. EVERYTHING on the gluten free menu is delicious and what I remember to taste like before I was diagnosed with Celiac 8 years ago. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Can't say enough great things about it to do it justice!
Loved it. French onion soup. Huge gf menu. Burger and fries on a gf English muffin. Excellent experience. Very knowledgable staff.
I really love this neighborhood diner. Very helpful staff and good food.. l always get the chicken parm with pasta.
