Perfect little NYC dinner, with a GF menu that is diverse and tasty! GF knowledge of kitchen staff and the charming waiters put us right at ease. Mozzarella sticks were fried to perfection and enough pasta to feed an army for a week! Definitely a winner!

I can only vouch for the fries. I ordered the “gluten free fries” and Nima tested them and they were safe! No gluten found in the Nima! They were delicious greasy real fries- not healthy but oh so good- I’m curious to try their other GF menu items- it seems like the fryer is safe though

Yes
Amazing gluten free pancakes, chicken tenders, and fries. Massive gluten free menu and great people working here
Yes
This diner has the typical fare, and a special gluten-free menu. As far as I know they are conscientious about preparing food separately. However I’ve their pancakes and they’re gummy and undercooked. The French toast is good. And I’ve had pasta I like, plus they have gluten-free English muffins. What I like most about this restaurant is that they are super friendly and welcoming to regular customers.
Nice gf menu
The gluten-free menu offers a wide variety of classic diner foods, and I felt comfortable eating there, except for the fact that it was really busy and my table didn’t have one dedicated waiter. I was nervous that someone was going to miss the note that I have a severe gluten allergy along the line. However, I didn’t get sick so it, everyone must have gotten the message.
Yes
A diner I would never go to except that they do gluten-free well. Mediocre food. The place is crowded and not very clean. Big menu though.
Yes
Got pretty sick after eating here. The food was really good, there were lots of options, and they seemed really knowledgeable. No idea what happened, I'm really bummed.
Yes
Excellent and huge variety of dishes that are gluten free. Very friendly staff as well!

Great safe food, knowledgeable staff, reasonably priced. A coffee shop, busy but fast service, highly recommended.

Stopped for lunch while visiting son who lives in city. I had the gf mozzarella sticks which were wonderful!! The marinara was great too! I also had gf chicken tenders and gf fries. Both were very good. Will definitely go back on other visits. Huge gf menu with gf pasta, sandwiches, meals. They have regular menu for non celiac or non gf options.
There is a separate gluten free menu. I mentioned celiac and they didn’t even blink, just acknowledged and took care of it! I had grilled cheese that tasted like childhood. And French fries. And rice pudding. It was glorious.
Yes
My daughter had the mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and fries. All fun food she usually can’t have. It was delicious.
Yes
Ate here every day for a week. Great gluten free menu. Small cross contamination issue one day when I did not specify I had celiac disease. I’m quite sensitive and have celiac disease.
Yes
Staff delightful, terrific diner food. Have two kids with celiac, have eaten here more than a dozen times and never an issue. Substantial gluten free menu including things like pasta, burgers, pancakes, fries, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks. Would highly recommend for gluten free and non gluten free eaters.
Yes
Wonderful gluten-free menu with substitute for practically everything on the regular menu. Spaghetti, sandwiches, mozzarella sticks, waffles, pancakes, English muffins, and of course the usual soups and salads were all present on the menu, and all tasted great.

When you walk in, it looks a bit dinky, but the food was amazing and they had lots of celiac-friendly gf options. I definitely plan to go back. The eggs florentine were especially good.

Celiachead- if you see this, please please please report this to the manager. I am very surprised that you had this experience, my family has always been treated well there, and its one of the few places we eat, and a favorite of my son's. If there is a bad apple there making the place less safe, help out the Celiac community and let the manager know so he can ensure that he has no one on his staff who makes the establishment less safe for the gluten free community. I think we provide a great deal of their business. I think he will take it seriously.

I have eaten here three times in the past three months but will never again. I have celiac and my friend doesn't, but the waiter brought our food with both plates on one hand, the gluten food on top. The meat from the (gluten) Reuben sandwich was touching my gluten-free pancakes. I pointed it out to the waiter, and he contradicted me "No, it's not." It was, my friend also noticed it. By then, the waiter had placed our food in front of us. I told the waiter that I have celiac and cannot eat food that has touched anything that may have touched bread. He said that it hadn't. My friend reiterated that I was allergic and couldn't eat the food. After all this back and forth (too long!), the waiter finally yielded, but very rudely. He said, "Fine, we'll throw this in the garbage and make you a new plate." I should have complained to the manager, but I didn't want to make a scene.
I'm sad to lose this diner because it's hard to find a celiac-safe diner. But I'd rather keep searching than risk eating here.
No
I actually came to this restaurant twice over the weekend. It was by far the best gluten free restaurant experience I have ever had! Being diagnosed with celiac disease back in April and being miserable after eating out every single time I had kind of given up on eating out at restaurants until I found this gem! The coolest part is they have a sticker on that door that says they are a participating gluten free restaurant. They have their own gluten free menu, cook my food separately, and even bring my food out separately! I could actually have a cheeseburger on toast French fries and banana pancakes that actually tasted normal! So delicious, you nailed it Cafe 82! 😊

Extensive gluten free menu and helpful staff. Try the sautéed spinach, garlic and mushrooms in olive oil! Yum! Dedicated fryer.

AMAZING MEALS!!! The GF Menu is extensive. They practice GIF protocols and even deliver the GF meals separate. First time since Celiac DX, 7 years ago, that we have enjoyed mozzarella sticks. GF fries and bread are out of this world. Will likely revisit before leaving the city!
Yes
Awesome service. Awesome food. They have a separate gluten free menu with lots of choices. The banana walnut pancakes and scrambled eggs were great, but the Turkey bacon was mediocre. Husband ate from regular menu and enjoyed his food except the Turkey bacon.
Good service, very good glutenfree meny. We'll be back.

Solid diner food with big portions. They've been very good about my allergy whenever I go, which is frequent. Highly recommend the waffles. The sandwiches I've had are so-so but they make good fries.
