I have had breakfast here one or two times. This is a traditional Viennes Kaffeehaus, complete with with grumpy waiters and wood paneling. They offer GF buns for breakfast, which is pretty standard with cheese, ham, eggs etc. You can also eat all scrumbled eggs and omelettes - they come without bread anyway. However, apart from getting the Viennese Kaffeehaus feeling, this place isn't particularly great. I have ham and eggs last time - for some reason, they decided to put a layer of ham on the pan and then fry the eggs on top which, of course, resulted in the ham being burned before the eggs were done. I'm not convinced. There are better places around if you're looking for GF breakfast.

Café Hummel is one of Viennas famous old cafés. They offer an authentic Viennese experience, while also providing excellent service (something not often found in old Viennese cafés). There aren’t many gf options (and I believe none of gf food options are vegan, just fyi) but their menu is very concise, the allergens are listed extremely diligently and the staff is happy to help. They have gluten-free bread, their egg-dishes are excellent and they have a wide selection of coffee and drinks. They do offer gluten-free schnitzel but it is not made in a dedicated fryer, so it’s not an option for celiacs. This is an excellent place for breakfast or coffee, for lunch I recommend Zum Wohl (Austrian Fusion) Pizzeria Scarabaccio (Italian) or Guru (Indian), which are all in walking distance

Awful. I went here because they advertise gluten free schnitzel and bread. I asked if the gluten free schnitzel was fried separately, and the waiter said no. I then just decided to get bacon and eggs, and told the waiter that I have a “gluten allergy” and asked to make sure the bacon and eggs aren’t cooked on a surface with gluten products. He rudely told me “If gluten is a problem for you do not eat here. Us waiters don’t know anything about how the kitchen works.” Promptly left.
