Review of Cafe Ono

This place had lots of plusses, and one big minus: customer service. I ordered a gluten free meal, and the server confirmed that I would get rice instead of bread. They served my meal with bread. I don't like to make a fuss, so I when I pointed it out, she offered to bring me a side of rice, not a new meal. I just gave the bread and the food around it to my daughter. Someone else ordered a dessert he saw in the case using the label next to it in the case, and they brought him something different. When he asked if he could exchange it for what he wanted, the server replied "But then what am I supposed to do with this? It already has whipped cream on it." (They also had carrot cake labeled as macaroons, but I didn't fall for that one.) Now for the good reviews: the food was delicious, and they have GF desserts, like carrot cake (ask about availabiliy). The garden is beautiful, and guests are invited to check out the art galleries and visit the pet rabbit. The owner was very friendly, and the server was even friendly as I checked out. So, it's a special place, worth a visit if you're flexible with what you get.
