In 2023, you would hope the general manager of a mid priced restaurant would have a better understanding of what gluten free means beyond "not fried". The GM bristled when I said "and so much more like soy sauce" which I was certain the GM wanted to fight me on as we were handed menus. GM dug a bigger hole with the parting comment, "all we need to know is that only the menu items with a GF circle next to it are gluten free". Our party of 6, three with Celiac disease all exchanged looks.
It was apparent this eatery would be a minefield for a meek diner or a person new to dining out with a Celiac diagnosis.
We ordered carefully and emphasised NO ONION STRAWS under the sirloin. This confused the waitress. Worrisome.
2 plates arrived incorrect and contaminated. The waitress didn't like that we pointed this out. Irritated it appeared the plan was to simply knock the glutinous food off the plats and replace with the items that has been ordered. One meal was remade and served after all other diners had finished.
No apologies or discounts offered.
Would NOT recommend.
