Had the curry with chicken (without roti), Rico with pulled pork and plantains, Pão de queijo, Cachanchara drink (a honey mojito). This was all sooooo good and had no reaction! Everything was well labeled. What made me love this place the most was that they had cheesecake (no graham) with strawberry and glaze on top!!! OMG WOW! Sorry i forgot the picture of the Pão de queijo but others on here posted it.

I came with some non-Gf friends and the waiter recommended family style sharing. For a starter we ordered the Pão de Queijo, a tapioca cheese bread, very delicious. Then we all shared the broken noodle salad, the Rico, the daily curry (I asked for the roti to be on a separate plate so my friends could still enjoy it). We went fairly late and there was a large party adjacent to us, they accidentally put some of their ordered items on our bill, we let the waiter know and he comp’ed us for a large portion of the meal, absolutely not necessary! Very kind.

Good experience last night. I had the cheese bread, the Rico entree, and the cheesecake. Service was a little uneven, but frankly I am more concerned that I not get sick and that there be a number of choices...I did not get sick and great selection. Most of the dessert menu was GF - a rarity! Did find the menu a touch confusing (not sure what was supposed to be an appetizer, etc). Food was tasty!

I am gluten-free and dairy free. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. The staff was super friendly and answered all my questions and made menu adjustments because I am allergic to citrus too. So many things on the menu that are gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan. I had the Brazilian cheese “bread” with vegan cheese, and it was amazing! The quinoa sweet potato fritters were delicious, as was the Creole-Seared Avocado. Great for my boyfriend (who is allergy free), he had Creamy Creole Shrimp and said it was delicious!

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Almost all items are GF. Worth the walk outside of the touristy area. Will be back when I have to travel here again. Great for non-GF people as well.
Drinks are also amazing. Sit by the bar area if you can (more open).

We found the most amazing restaurant on our final night in New Orleans — Carmo, a quaint little place where almost everything on the menu is gluten-free (even the fried items!) and where there are tons of vegetarian and vegan items. It’s a tropical restaurant, with menu items inspired by Cuban, Brazilian, Caribbean, and West African cuisine.
Everything was incredible. I was blown away by the Brazilian cheese bread, the quinoa and sweet potato fritters (with corn and beans), and the broken-noodle salad — which had so many inventive flavors that it was an experience in and of itself. And we had gluten-free cheesecake for dessert. This place is a wow.

As someone that is GF and vegetarian finding whole meals can be a challenge. This was tasty and fresh. Visited today and found a beautiful setting and incredible true Latin inspired food. They have food for vegetarians, vegan and have clearly denoted GF on the menu. I had the Carlo salad, Trifongo Relleno (i had it vegan) and quinoa fritters and Brazilian bread pao de quiejo. Great cocktails and beautiful setting

So good! Really enjoyed my dinner here. The server was excellent. She was enthusiastic and steered us in the right direction for food. I had the Peruvian ceviche and the small Esmeralda salad. We shared two orders of the Brazilian cheese bread. Everything was filling and delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Plenty of gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options. Desserts looked amazing, but I had to pass bc dinner was so filling.

We stopped in here after a day at the WWII Museum. We didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in. I let the waiter know that I was celiac and she pointed out on the menu (which was clearly labeled) some options for me. I ordered The Rico and it was delicious! Even my non-celiac husband loved it. We shared a cheesecake and passion fruit mousse for dessert. Amazing!

Restaurant was very busy. Did not feel as though my concerns regarding gluten were adequately addressed. Checked this out due to all the great reviews. There is an enormous amount of bread going on at this place. Made me extremely uncomfortable about their ability to be celiac safe. Nothing about gluten free precautions were mentioned when our meals were brought out. Very disappointed

I wish I could give 10 stars!! The restaurant, food, and atmosphere were all incredible authentic to a Creole, Latin, South American fusion. We ordered take-out and were not able to eat until 20 minutes after the food was done, even so every single item my party ordered was divine! The pork rios is especially delicious. They even have gluten free dessert! If it is available, the chocolate mousse is a creamy rich must have! From the friendly and accommodating staff to the wonderful experience and food, this is a fantastic restaurant with authentic and healthy options!

Staff was knowledgeable and there are many options for GF, DF or vegan versions. Menu is clearly marked and it was super flavorful. Great healthy options which is a rare find when visiting New Orleans.

Best food we ate our entire visit. A short walk from the WWII museum, we arrived famished, and a plate of the pork pico hit the spot! A crisp plantain patty topped with melted cheese that added a nice tang, tender spiced pork and salsa - this was an exceptional meal. And the staff were so kind and knew exactly what to do for celiacs.
Yes
So amazing. Had the Rico and Pao de Quejio for lunch, cheap and phenomenal. Only two blocks from the WWII museum if you need to grab lunch while touring.
Items clearly marked on the menu. I've eaten here a few times and the food has always been amazing. The ceviche and the rico are fantastic! The staff are friendly and the decor is really cool.
I was disappointed that they were out of the pork pico but I got the vegan meat with dairy cheese pico and it was super yummy. Got a side of Brazilian cheese bread as well. Very good

Where to begin? The decor and music was so cool. We loved every meal we ordered. Tasty bar menu too! Not one bad thing to say. Loved it!

I love this place! I have never gotten sick from the food, and the staff is always pleasant. I recommend the Rico!
Yes
Food is safe but not very good. We really liked the Brazilian cheese bread and the ceviche but the curry and the noodle salad were so salty it was unbearable. Service was attentive though. Insanely expensive. 5 dollars for tofu in the curry... also only four balls of bread for five bucks

Love this place. Great gf, vegan options. Peruvian, Panamanian flavors - yum! Nice to find something healthy in NOLA.

Staff very helpful and the food is wonderful. Menu marked. Nice drink list.
Great! Wanted a non fried breakfast and this hit the spot - service quick, staff had enough knowledge to instil confidence and the food was delicious and good value for the quality of ingredients - didn’t get a GF marked menu had to ask server for breakfast. Great vegan food too!
Yes
GF items easy to see. Knowledgeable staff. Carmo salad was good, but RICO sandwich was better. Pão de Queijo bread was excellent!
Yes
What a great find! The menu is well labeled and many dishes have options to make it vegan or vegetarian. I had the vegan gumbo and Rico dish (with pork), it was very flavorful! My server thought the passion fruit mousse was both GF and DF, but he still checked and found out it was not DF (so sadly I had to pass). They have a fun drink menu too. I would definitely come back!
Great, eclectic restaurant! GF items well identified. Innovative & flavourful combinations of ingredients. Skillful use of herbs, spices, and delicious sauces. Good prices for New Orleans.

Many GF options. Also many vegetarian and vegan options.
Delicious food!! The staff takes every precaution for us Celiac folk as well. I highly recommend eating here
Really good option for celiacs. We have 3 in the family and my husband eats GF with us to help avoid contamination within our order. Kids loved the fritters and Brazilian Cheese bread.
