Cupcake was light on flavor, it needed more. The frosting was so sweet it was hard to taste anything else. No reaction after eating so seems safe. Everything is labeled. I won’t return for another visit. It was kind of meh.

The staff was super nice (waterside location) and from what I learned from them afterwards is that the main location might be safer. My son (who has both celiacs and a peanut allergy) got a chocolate cupcake and he ate a bit of the icing before having a coughing fit and saying that he felt funny. He's 4 so he still doesn't have the right words for what he's feeling. I don't know if there was some cross contamination in the microwave or whether it was gluten, nuts, or if it was something else but I don't feel safe bringing him back. Luckily he did not have any other reactions but for a 4 year old to refuse a chocolate cupcake something must not be right.

I am very disappointed here. I will stick to my favorite usual place.

I visited Carolina Cupcakery today and was extremely disappointed. The gluten free lemon cupcake was overpriced, frozen, gummy, way undercooked, with zero lemon flavor. This was their second chance. Both gluten free cupcakes that I’ve tried from this bakery have been terrible. If you want something sweet, get the gluten free chocolate chip Bundt cake at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Virginia Beach.

This place has its own dedicated space for gluten free and vegan options. Their peach pie cupcake is wonderful!

We have used Carolina Cupcakery for our daughter who has celiac disease and is dairy/egg free. We ordered cupcakes for her wedding shower and for other occasions and have always been very satisfied! Delicious!!

Very expensive and very small. For the $4.00 price I can make a dozen delicious homemade cupcakes at home.

They have a dedicated wheat and nut free kitchen separate from their regular kitchen. They also bake gluten free dairy free and Crazy 8's that are free from all top 8 allergens.

Separate kitchen and freezer area for allergies. Yummy too!

Went 1 time. I was not impressed with their product at all. I was looking for 100% gluten free options.

I have mixed reviews after visiting. I was disappointed that the Gfree cupcakes were only available from the freezer. The Salted Carmel cupcake was good, moist, generally enjoyable. On the opposite side of the review was the Chocolate Fix. It was hard & dry and completely unedible. I only visited because they were on Cupcake Wars. That's not enough to bring me back.
I went to the Battlefield Blvd shop (not Colley) but I would think Colley is the same. The Battlefield shop had a separate cabinet with gluten-free cupcakes and they are not special order! The cupcake was so well-made it barely tasted gluten-free to me, though it definitely was from the ingredient list listed on the container. Also, 20 seconds in the microwave made it even tastier!
