Permanent ly closed😩 so very sad
We made a reservation here because other sites recommended it if you're gluten free. Maybe the owner of this place has changed recently, but I would not recommend Casa Lola for anyone on a gluten free diet (Celiac or otherwise). The menu is all in Spanish, so deciphering even high-level ingredients is impossible unless you know Spanish (we asked for an English version and were told they didn't have one....odd for Puerto Rico). The staff that night did not speak English, so thankfully I know some Spanish and was able to say "no trigo, no harina" (server did not understand the word gluten, which is the same in both languages....so no wheat, no flour was as good as it could get). Long story short, I didn't eat but my gfree husband took the gamble on the paella (suggested by the server), and he's paying the price now.

My wife is celiac and we have had great experiences at this Restaurant. We hosted 30 people here for her baby shower and they designed an entire gluten free menu for everyone. Every time we are in Puerto Rico we eat here. My wife has never been sick. We even buy food to go as there are not very many GF options in the Island. The food did taste different this last time we ate there but no problems so far. Do tell the waiter/waitress that you are celiac and that you need them to be careful with cross contamination. This is a safe heaven for us.

Not knowledgeable in gluten free as they claim you can pretty much eat everything. You can't because a lot of things are deep fried and cross contaminated. They screwed up my meal and weren't apologetic at all. Not a positive experience.
After reading the reviews and recommendation of locals we decided to give it a try. The menu sounded good but it turns out there are very few things that a celiac could eat. We took the servers advice on the pork belly. When it came out we asked on two occasions how it was prepared and we were told that it was safely made in a sauté pan. After a bite, I knew that it was fried in the same fryer as other things. Not safe at all. I ended up very ill. The server confessed she knew it was fried, the manager had little care for the situation. I would not feel safe recommending this place to a Celtic.
