Very high chance of cross contamination. The girl scooping the lettuce was using her same hands to pick up pita to see if anyone wanted it. Then going back into the lettuce to get the next persons bowl ready. I told her I had celiac and she looked confused so I said “gluten allergy” and asked her to change her gloves and if there was lettuce from somewhere not contaminated. She laughed under her breath when I said that but did change her gloves and gave me different lettuce. She was incredibly rude about it. Would not recommend going due to chance of cc, but also because of this rude staff member.

I got as far as "celiac" and the waitress immediately said "no worries, I've got you covered" and went straight to handwashing and new gloves. She was very clear on explaining which few items were not GF, and like Chipotle followed me down the line while other servers stepped back so their food would not be held near mine. I felt very safe and appreciative.
I did return a week later and my server was a little less confident but equally enthusiastic and careful with the mildest of prompting on my part.

The food is amazing!! It is a little hard to find though since the sign outside isn't lit. Also, for the people who are gluten free, there needs to be a gluten free pita option.
First time there was delicious! Follows the Chipotle concept with a Mediterranean theme, and almost all the the ingredients are gluten free, as are the preparations. Different kinds of bowls and salads, most of the proteins are GF. Big flavors such as Siracha tahini and the vegetarian with us loved his rice and Lentil bowl. Also amazing drinks. Loved it!

Amazing Mediterranean restaurant. Almost the entire menu is gluten-free other than their peta options. They have a variety of bowls and salads that can be made both gluten and dairy-free. Great environment and the staff are very helpful!

Very fresh food. Staff was helpful with food allergy questions and immediately removed gloves when I mentioned gluten. Falafel is not gluten free, but there are many other options. Had an avocado bowl that was excellent

Cava is a similar set up to chipotle in the build your own manner but they use spoons for all ingredients so there is less worry about cross-contamination. Everything is gluten free except for the pita, falafel, and sides but other than that it’s all safe. The website has a downloadable pdf with all food restrictions laid out which was super helpful. Delicious food and no reaction so far! My only issue with them is that the staff can be rude about the safety precautions, so be prepared to fight a little in order to have safe food.

I love their food and there are many GF options, but you have to be careful of you are very sensitive to cross contact. They keep pita bread right next to the rice and they are tossing bread around a lot. If you are very sensitive, I would recommend asking if they can get fresh rice from a backup container and change their gloves.

I love coming to Cava!! They make sure to change their gloves and get new bowls when I mention Celiac and almost everything is gluten free (just not the pita or falafels). They also gave me my bowl for free once!!!
