Went there and left after viewing the menu. They only have two dishes that are gluten free. First is fruit and second is salmon. I asked about substitutions and was given an attitude.

I was happy to see GF options listed on their online menu. We arrived, and you order at the bar. I let the bartender know I’m celiac and that I saw they had GF items on the menu. I asked about the “proper chips” (fries) to make sure they use a dedicated fryer, and they do. I expressed my concern about CC, and she assured me they are aware of what celiac disease is, and I was so relieved. I ordered plain, grilled Cod, fries and cole slaw. She made sure to give me my lemons from the bar so I could see they didn’t come into any contact with gluten. I felt completely confident in my order. The food was brought out, it was delicious, and I was thrilled to be eating fries in a restaurant, honestly.

I visited the Celtic Ray because I wanted to see the Young Dubliners when they were performing. I ordered food at the inside bar because I was there solo and you have to find a table, order food at the bar, and then they bring it to your table. Since I couldn't hold a table for myself I sat inside at the bar and was happy I did. The bartenders were super sweet and helpful with my gluten allergy. I ordered gluten free baked fish and chips and it was REALLY tasty. The fish was super flavorful and went really well with the two ciders I ordered. I took my last cider to the upstairs bar outside and enjoyed the live music. Overall it was a fantastic night and even better, the Ray was walking distance to my Airbnb. I hope to stop by again next time I'm in Punta Gorda.
