There are MANY items on the menu labeled gluten free that are not gluten free. Anything fried (chaat ) is not gluten free due to shared fryers. I had to have a lot of back and forth with the person taking the order before she checked and found out it is not safe. I was told I could eat the uttapam, the grill is shared but I was literally the first person in the restaurant that day and they said they would clean it. I would not trust it otherwise as it does not seem like allergies are routinely communicated with the chef or that they care.
I ate the uttapam. I’m not very sensitive so I can’t tell if it was safe. I wouldn’t eat here again. I think it is irresponsible to label things gluten free unless the restaurant is willing to take cross contamination precautions.
