Chai Thai Noodles

The summary: I have never been glutened here, but I’m suspicious of how careful they are and have decided not to go back.

The longer review: I wanted to try chai Thai because it was one of the very few places in the area that said they did gluten-free pad Thai. The first time that I ordered from them, there were no issues, and I didn’t have any reaction. But then the second time I ordered, they took a gluten-free to me and soy free and egg free, so instead of getting pad, Thai, I just got noodles with nothing else. We decided to give them one final try more recently, and they got almost every item in our order wrong. Even though I haven’t been glutened by them, I would not feel safe eating there again, just because it’s clear to me that they do not put very much effort or consideration into whether they are getting the dishes correct from the order.

NOT SAFE FOR CELIACS or anyone with a serious gluten sensitivity. I had to go to urgent care as a result of eating here!! I ate here once and was fine and then had the exact same thing a week later but this time the woman taking my order glossed over what I needed as far as keeping me safe from gluten. There was no indication of my dish needing to be gluten free or kept safe from cross contamination on the ticket that goes to the kitchen, even though they labeled it as gf coming out. I had such a severe reaction it was as though it was way more than just cross contamination.

Very fast service. Stopped to order to go on my commute and they had great gluten free options and had me out with two orders in about 15 min. I got the Chai Thai noodles and the green curry. Both great. Chai Thai doesn’t have a lot of meat but it is also not advertised to. The green curry is great. If you are not always a huge curry fan, this is a great mild curry with some coconut undertone that you might love. I will stop here again.

Highly recommend the fresh rolls. All gluten free items clearly marked. I make a point to come here when I visit the Oakland area.

Recommend this place highly. Great GF markings on the menu. If you want something that is not marked GF only because of a soy sauce, ask if they can accommodate. GREAT GF meal!!!! Can’t wait to go back
