Chakas Mexican Restaurant

I left a 5 star review 4 years ago on Google, today I took it down and I’m leaving a 1 star. So very sad. I try to support local, nearby businesses. I’ve been supporting this one for 4+ years. No longer, back to Brewery Bar, La Fagota and Hacienda.

Portions are so much less, prices high and now there’s a 3.99% admin fee automatically added to the bill. When I asked about it the server said it’s due to credit card processing fees, I paid with cash, so that makes no sense.

Turned out that our extremely rude server is the owners daughter. She was so incredibly rude and not appreciative of a very long term customer. Her parents are kind, but their daughter needs to go through training.

Sadly, I will not be back.

— Not Much/None

How would you rate the taste and quality of the gluten-free food you tried?

— Poor

They don’t have a gluten free menu, but the waitress was knowledgeable. She recommended a vegetarian green chili that’s gluten free instead of the regular green chili, whole beans instead of the refried beans, and mentioned that the fryer is shared.
