Review of Chanterelle

505 Thames St, Newport, RI 02840

Review

Previously known as Bouchard, same chef from the previous 6 years... Phenomenal. One of the best restaurants in the country and still extremely accommodating to Celiac. The chef uses gluten free flour as a thickener whenever possible (as in the lobster bisque). The waiter assumed it wasn't gluten free, but I remember speaking to the chef about it last year, and the waiter confirmed with the kitchen that it is still gluten free. They use strict allergy protocols and clean the cooking area before preparing for your table. The food is incredible, still the best restaurant in one of the best foodie areas in the country. Low risk of cross contamination due to the protocols and limited amount of gluten related items on the menu.
