Charleston Crab House

This is close to James Island. There is no GF menu but the waiter was very helpful. I was here for lunch and ordered the Baja Shrimp Salad without wontons. I did have a problem with the dressing since they all had canola or soybean oil in them. I had some dressing that I used. The salad was very good.

Ate here today and the food was awesome. I have celiac disease. No gluten free menu but our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable about my issue. He said that they can make anything gluten free except the fried foods. I ordered the grilled seafood trio dinner. It was excellent. We will eat here again. Highly recommend!

Ordered steamed crab and noted Celiac anyways. Server knew what I meant. It was a great meal, and there are enough steamed seafood options that are hard to screw up regardless of restaurants knowledge of Celiac. Can’t say I would order anything else there. This location is special, you can approach by boat, dock, walk in and have them cook your fresh catch.

I have always loved this ace...but since I have had to be GF, i haven't been. We went for family dinner last night and when I asked for their GF menu, the waitress told me they did not have one and cannot guarantee the safety of anything. Knowing steamed crab is safe, I ordered the steamed Alaskan crab, no seasoning. Good visit but be warned, the list if things here is not what is actually at this particular location.

Amazing food. Great service and we got to watch Dolphins swim during our meal. Did not have a reaction. Staff very knowledgable and they have a gluten free menu.

This place was delicious!! I ordered the shrimp and grits and didn't get glutened. I really appreciated how on their menu it asked for comments regarding their GF menu. Places always looking to improve attract me because we should never stop learning!

The food was good. They have a gf menu and they seem to be knowledgeable about gf issues. They even ask for feedback on their gf menu, so they can improve their options. My only complaint was that the gf food was unnecessarily lacking in seasoning. The mahi was very good, in spite of the fact that it seemed to have no seasoning at all. With salt, pepper and lemon, it was still a very yummy meal. My family thoroughly enjoyed the gf crabpot. We'll return!

I ate here twice while in Charleston, I have celiacs and lactose the sever went outta her way to make sure my seafood wouldn't have any butter on it. The gluten free menu was amazing I deff recommend it...

Cheesy shrimp and grits and cole slaw were awesome. The gluten-free menu had a nice array of choices. The server was knowledgeable about GF restrictions, but the service was slow.
