Chavolo's Mexican Restaurant

This restaurant was absolutely NOT a gluten free restaurant. When I asked the waiter what the gfree options were he told me I could get anything without the sour cream and they had whole beans without the lard. When I told him gluten free meant no wheat, he said I could have anything with a corn tortilla. This restaurant should not be on this app.

I’m local and eat here regularly. Just stay away from the flour tortillas and you will be fine. The margaritas are pretty potent. I ask for a skinny marg because the regular mix gives me terrible heartburn.

The waiter wasn't quite sure what all was gluten free but he checked with me on all ingredients and answered all my questions. The food was delish, I tried the Pollo de la crema as previously suggested and it was great!

Stopped by while driving through on a road trip. Other reviews were so positive that we decided to try it out. Awesome food!! Understood our GF needs and daughter and I had no issues at all.

LOVE this place. If you are anywhere close- take the time to find it. EVERYTHING they make is gluten free except the flour tortillas. First time I have pork verde chili since diagnosed w/celiac!

Staff very helpful. No separate GF menu. Soft corn wrapped tacos are my favorite. Fajitas served with corn tortilla side are beautiful to behold, awesome aroma, disappear too quickly.
