Knowlegible staff. Good food and selection. I eat here when I am in Bakersfield about 3 times per year. I have never gotten sick.

CELIACS! AVOID CHEF’S CHOICE LIKE THE PLAGUE! They claim to have gluten-free dishes but it’s not true! There is so much cross-contamination and zero effort to reduce it. I used to be a regular before my diagnosis, but since I’ve eaten here the last several times, it has made me very sick and break out in hives + with many other symptoms even after eating only safe foods. It’s the only place I can trace my health issues to. Sad to say this because their food is delicious.

Do not eat here if you are celiac. The owner does not take the allergy seriously. 70 percent of the GF items on the menu are misrepresented or just a blatant lie. My wife had been eating here with friends over a few weeks. She had been feeling sick, but couldn’t pin point why. That’s until her and I went there to eat on my day off. Come to find from the waiter that most of the sauces for the GF dishes contained gluten. The previous servers had said otherwise. When we complained to the owner that they were misrepresenting what’s GF on their menu,he dismissed us,”saying anything having a marinade couldn’t be made without gluten.” That’s either ignorance or indifference. There are several GF soy sauces anymore and the majority restaurants that cook from scratch can amend sauces easily. An example would be PF Chang’s. Shame on this owner for making people sick......

This place was great when they opened but I think they found it's to much trouble to stay GF. It feels like they share the water when cooking the rice noodles. Don't go hear and order anything with rice noodles!!! Been contaminated many times this last year hoping they would fix the issue but nope. It's sad they use to be an option.

BEWARE This place is HORRIBLE!!! Even though items are clearly labeled gluten free on the menu, I was told by a waiter it wasn't gluten free. When I questioned why the menu had it the item clearly listed in the gluten free section of the menu. The waiter finally got the owner who's only explanation was that it was a mistake!!! Basically they were poisoning me, though this did answer the question as to why even though I was extra diligent about eating gluten free being celiac the blatant disregard and what they referred to as a simple mistake was for me digestive problems. But, what if this was a peanut or seafood allergy and my throat had closed up for their carelessness. We should feel confident to comfortably eat foods clearly listed as gluten free without fear of being lied too and basically poisoned.

One time the heavenly beef is gluten free and the next time it isn't. I have had some symptoms every time I go there - some mild some more intense. I don't go here often.

Love all the GF options, they even have a little GF symbol next to menu items that are naturally GF. But many menu items say can be made GF. We brought GF cupcakes from Sweet Surrender for my sisters birthday to the restaurant and the staff went through the trouble to put them on there own little plates with fancy raspberry, chocolate, and caramel designs, it was a sweet touch for my sisters b-day we didn't even ask for.

Service was amazing and very friendly! Didn't care for anything with the Thai basil cause it would make the dish taste like black licorice.

Love all their curries, salmon with curry sauce, and roasted duck with spicy GF soy sauce. They are usually very good with making GF alterations to most of their recipes. The owner is a medical doctor who is very sensitive to allergies and passionate about making his food taste amazing.

I ordered the gf chow mein and they served me regular noodles not rice noodles and I even sent it back to the kitchen. They swore they were gf and when I pressed to see the noodle package they finally realized it wasn't gf. I had 3 people plus the kitchen swear it was gf. I wouldn't trust them if you are severally allergic. I won't be going back.

They can make just about any dish gluten free and the staff is very knowledgable about gluten. Dishes are always cooked in a clean pan with clean utensils! Always double check, just to be sure, but a great place to eat. By the way....the food is to die for! Put's PF Chang's to shame and for half the price!
