Had a great experience here the first time i visited, but unfortunately the second time i got glutened with the lettuce wraps. There had been a change in the sauce they used and they hadn’t updated the menu, so i was served lettuce wraps with the gluten free option but it was not gluten free. The waitress came over to tell me after we had already eaten about half the appetizer. I’m lucky that I didn’t eat too much of it but still experienced some symptoms. Will likely go back to this restaurant but stick with simple salads and proteins.

GF menu items are marked. There isn’t a huge selection but something in every category. I had the lettuce wraps, wood fired chicken, and banana cream pie. All were delicious!

I’m so conflicted. The banana cream pie is soooo tasty. However, I know I got glutened here. Ordered the banana cream pie to go. I specified gluten free. When I started eating it I couldn’t believe it was gf. Especially the delicious crust! …turns out the gf version doesn’t include the crust! I’m so frustrated with myself for not being more attentive.

My wife was diagnosed celiac a year ago, and has not had a reaction until we dined at Chesters. Ordering from the Gluten free menu, we ordered chicken wings, Santa Fe chicken salads and had crust free Banana Pie. Not sure which one has made her sick, but leaning towards the pie as our server asked if I would like her crust halfway through eating the pie. Without celiacs, this restaurant would hands down get a 5 star rating, they do have excellent food and service, but not Celiac friendly in our opinion.

I was very disappointed with the limited gluten free menu. They do not have any GF substitutes like GF buns. They say things are gluten free by just removing the bread, pasta and sauce from the dishes.

Excellent. Great atmosphere. Never had a gluten reaction. Though sometimes the pork chops are dry. I suppose it depends on the chef. We go here often and I've rarely been disappointed.

We had Several different dishes since two of us are gf and it was all wonderful. I am also dairy free and they worked well with both allergies.

I appreciate they offer gfree options..... But whew! You have to read two separate menus to figure out what you can order and the waitstaff aren't well trained on gfree. I like the atmosphere and the ciders, but be prepared to take time with ordering...and they get to gfree by taking away ill or of options and flavor from the dishes.

Dined late-night at bar so only limited bar menu was available. Service was excellent. Ordered roast beef sliders without bun. An ample serving of sliced tender roast beef was served with tasty french fries and a delicious horseradish sauce. Nearby bar patrons were impressed enough seeing my food to ask what I had ordered. Finished meal with an absolutely huge bowl of delicious GF banana cream pie (no crust). Excellent dining experience.

I am three months GF and still very scared to eat out. I stopped at Chesters while on a business trip and was happy to see a decent GF menu. Yes, it's devoid of bread, but the Monterey chicken and mashed potatoes were delicious. I would definitely go back.

This is my wife's and my favorite restaurant in Rochester. My wife is highly sensitive to gluten and has never been sick here. They have a full GF menu and work hard to prevent cross contamination. The GF banana cream pie is amazing too!
