China Wok

It pains me to write this because this used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant before I developed Celiac disease, but this place made me sick like I’ve never been sick before. I hadn’t been here in over a year because I wasn’t sure if they had any options for me, but I decided to try it out when I went there for dinner with my family. I told the waitress about my situation and if they have any GF options for me. She said confidently, “Miss, we can make anything gluten free.” Wow, I wasn’t expecting that. So I ordered the string bean chicken and she tells me that one is already gluten free since it’s made in a white sauce. So I ate all of my string bean chicken and later woke up in the middle of the night with the worst stomach cramps I have ever had. My lower abdomen was tender to the touch no doubt from the inflammatory response that the gluten triggered. I felt terrible for THREE days. My gut hurt so bad, I could barely stomach white rice. I do not know what they did. Perhaps they cooked my food in the woks they cooked all the other food in without cleaning anything. Whatever happened, I don’t think I can eat there ever again.
