They only use rice flour to fry everything. The owner is aware of Celiac Disease and has always been the one to take my order. I’ve been here for 5 years and keep coming back! Their food is safe and delicious!

This is by far my favorite Gluten Free restaurant in Pismo. I look forward to their fried Halibut fish tacos. They are SO delicious and GF. I also love their sweet potato fries with chipotle sauce.

I love this restaurant! I was diagnosed with celiac disease 6 months ago. And it's been hard going out to eat. My biggest problem is finding a place who doesn't cross-contaminate my gluten free order. This place was extremely knowledgeable and I didn't have to worry! The fish tacos are amazing! Halibut fish fried with a gluten free beer batter. It was moist, flaky, and had the best Crichton texture. I have never tasted a gluten free meal that was as delicious as this one! The mango salsa and chipotle sauce on top was perfect. I seriously want to drive 5 hours to go get some more! My husband ordered a bacon burger and was very happy with his order too. I can not wait to come back and try more items from their menu.

We had to call back to ask how to differentiate regular and gluten-free burgers as the boxes were unmarked. The GF bun got soggy quickly, but the burger and toppings were very tasty. We loved the Brussel sprouts as well. I had not had a GF onion ring in years, and it was really good and crispy. The fries are home-made and do not stay crispy for long. Overall a very safe and tasty experience!

Open for dinner only 3 days a week, so plan accordingly.

The person who helped me answered all my questions and was knowledgeable.

Many gluten-free options and separate fryer. I ate fried shrimp two days in a row with French fries. No reaction.

The fish tacos are my absolute favorite! This is my all time favorite place to eat while in Pismo. Delicious food, knowledgeable staff, and they keep me safe! I also love their sweet potato fries!
Late night street tacos (order has 3, not 2 as in the picture)
Crispy fried shrimp. Batter made with omission beer and rice flour
Peanut butter mousse with chocolate ganache. Just sweet enough

We ate here multiple times with my celiac son, who is very sensitive. Food was delicious and he had no reaction. Would highly recommend it! (He did avoid the fried food). (As always, tell them and ask questions!)

Fried mushrooms were made with rice flour (best fried mushrooms I’ve had since going gluten free) and then loaded tater tots were amazing! The Brussel sprouts were also the best I’ve had the blue cheese brought out the flavor of the dish with the rest of the ingredients! Super friendly staff! Had a kombucha w cbd which was awesome!

Yummy food, but not safe for celiacs. They claim their beer batter is GF, but they use Omission beer which is gluten-reduced, not gluten free. This means that anything that goes in the fryer is off-limits too. Finally, even though I deliberately avoided anything fried, I still had a minor cross-contamination reaction.

Disclaimer: I’m REALLY sensitive, so others may be fine with this place.

Fish tacos were delicious! The chop classic was very good even though the bun was GF , the bread was cold and very crumbly. Made the hamburger soggy. the staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free diet and take good measures about cross contamination. The coconut cream mouse was amazing, they omitted the crumble because has gluten. Staff and service were friendly. The tab for a family of 4 was $70, without drinks. A little expensive

I wanted a burger today so we stopped here on our way back to the Bay Area. I was very disappointed in the flavor of the burger. Also, the cheese on the burger had mold on it.

Wonderful! Everything was gf--the fries, tater tots, beer batter fish tacos (although note that they use Omission Beer for the beer batter). Very knowledgeable about cross contamination They ran out if corn tortillas on the afternoon we were there, but it worked out for us. Highly recommend.

The food and service were excellent. My daughter and I are gluten free. We like the sound of the special (salmon with marmalade sauce), but it had couscous so the waitress offered us mashed potatoes. The desserts were excellent. My other daughter has been following the Crossfit games and one of the owners was happy to put that channel on for her. The waitresses and owner were extremely personable. We would highly recommend Chop Street.

NOT CELIAC SAFE. They use a gluten removed beer for batter but insist it's safe because the FDA says so. They claim to be Celiac friendly but clearly don't understand it.

We were very excited for this restaurant also but we have a latex allergy, in addition to being GF and DF, and they prep almost everything with latex gloves. They were helpful and identified a few things that would be safe. So, we had a green salad with beets and tried all 3 of their fries (sweet potato, regular and seasoned) from their dedicated fryer that only had fries cooked in it. Hopefully they will consider changing over to nitrile or vinyl gloves so we can enjoy the fried fish tacos next time! However, I did ask what GF beer they used for the beer battered fried fish and they said Omission which is not GF enough for us as we're super sensitive and it's only "crafted to remove gluten". Guess we won't be trying their famous fish tacos. Wish they would use another GF beer.

Very attentive wait staff. Great for pick up or dine in. I love that I can order a burger with a bun and fries and not have to worry about getting sick. I have never had any symptoms after eating here.

They do get busy during on weekends and seating is limited so plan accordingly.

My daughter is celiac so we are always on the look out for new places to eat, that can accommodate. We had the opportunity to eat here and it was wonderful. My wife and daughter both had the gluten free fish and chips while I had the new earth burger, it's vegetarian, dairy free as well as gluten free. It's been a long journey to find gf food that didn't resemble cardboard. This was an amazing treat. I can't wait to visit Pismo again.
