We found this “restaurant on the corner” using the Find Me Gluten-free app. After reading the reviews, we decided it was worth trying. I DO have celiac and while I can have reactions to cross-contamination, I try to vocalize my allergy and tend to trust establishments to take me seriously.
The team at Cielo was inviting and helpful and it truly felt like we were dining as part of the neighborhood. They offered gluten-free rolls as an appetizer with olives, which was delicious. The pizza was a thin crust — it was crispy and had a nice fire-grilled taste. And I was able to accompany the meal with a GF beer.
The only caveat we would share is that on a Friday night, it somehow took nearly two hours to receive our pizza — it was delicious, but the wait seemed too long. Also, if you are so sensitive that cross contamination can set you back, I would not recommend this pizza. After waiting with trepidation for 5 hours (my normal window to react) I have experienced no impacts from the meal.
